We're human, and the world is complex. We can never truly live up to our own rules. You're never going to find someone who really lives up to their own rules, unless they effectively have no rules. Vic's personal rules are fantastic and there's nothing inherently wrong with them, but god damnit he would be pummeled into the ground if not for taking the help that he's getting.
