The idea of gaming as a community is farcical, the idea of it having inherant moral properties when the only unifying trait is enthusiasm for a type of entertainment is absurd. It doesnt belong to 'them' because it cannot belong to anyone. If anything GG proved that when the idea of inherant cultural values being ingrained was proven to be completly false.

These people really do need to be the hero of their own story.

How can you even exclude anyone? Say I'm the biggest piece of shit on earth but all I need is a some money and I'm in, their's nothing you can do to stop me being a gamer.

Imagine how retarded this would sound if you tried doing it with TV?

EXACTLY. Yet they act like every single woman/POC/LGBT person are physically being barred from gaming by Evil White Men. Hostile discussion environment. Given one side's inability to comrpomise and another looking for fights. It is easy to stir up a shitty environment for discussion or being ethusiastic about a game.

Not sure where the right place to post this is, but it looks like #GamerGate bete noire who later fucked up his life Devin Faraci has returned to Twitter. Quite the blast from the past. I guess he may have gone DFE at some point, but I follow him on my alt account and this is the first time I ever remember seeing a tweet from him.

Sadly the account is protected so screenshots are the best I can do.

GamerGate would've never happened if the media didn't start it. Most people would've forgotten about it unless the media hadn't done a gamers are dead astroturfing, and developers at GDC hadn't referenced it. And here I am 5 years later being reminded by Twitter devs and Games Journalists that Gamergate was not only responsible for Trump, but now Christchurch. If the media hadn't kicked up a big stink and the major websites hadn't gone scorched earth on all discussion, the Zoe and 5 guys and fries joke would be considered a cringy, outdated meme. But they keep bringing it up. In the end, the only people they have to blame for Gamergate is themselves. I sure as fuck am sick of talking about it.

The game industry didnt take an immature direction to the objections of the critics but only pandered harder while Sony went pants on head retard to focus on catering to the industry insiders instead of making bank.

GamerGate is a revenant for some people. All this said, Anita's tweet may not be full-on extortion but it did sound like one to some people due to how she worded it. As for Cyberpunk 2077 itself, the only "GG spergs" that would target Cyberpunk 2077 in full-on autistic sperging and rage would be idiots like One Angry Gamer. Compare that to others who wouldn't mind playing as some robo-woman with a big chrome dick.
