The Venus Project caught my attention in 2008. If you want to know more about it I suggest watching a youtube doc called Zeitgeist Addendum.(skip to the part about Jacque Fresco if you don't care about the other shit) It's not a cult it's just a grandiose idea that an old engineer came up with. He even tried to trademark the term "resource based economy" He's dead now, and if his supporters made a cult out of his idea this is news to me... they are probably just using the name.

That, or you know... it's all in Etika's head. Movies like ZeitGeist can fuck you up mentally if you take it all seriously.

If you’re curious: the idea behind the Venus Project is to outsource all jobs to technology and AI, and to give everyone a basic universal income so everyone can go about their lives in peace or whatever.

I had no idea it was some weird front for a cult though. Seeing the Zeitgeist Film brought me back as a former friend was obsessed with Peter Joseph and said video.

Yeah, that's basically it. He had some pretty good ideas about society and structural engineering and so forth. I could understand how on a surface level some of his ideas might sound cult like, and he died before he could really flesh out his ideas. It's possible the whole project was turned into a cult, the group behind the production of ZeitGeist disassociated with The Venus Project in 2012 due to a conflict of interest. Maybe that was part of it?

I'm still doubtful though, all we really have to go on is the mind of a schizophrenic... I saw "revolution" and "mass awakening" in some of these posts, it's possible he and some friends just watched too much conspiracy theory shit on youtube and freaked out. Could also be someone in some "woke" discord server feeding him bullshit and manipulating his mental illness. That could explain the money that was sent.

I've watched several documentaries on Heaven's Gate, and in one of them I remember it said that a few of them still had access to their website specifically. They maintain it for the purpose of historical documentation. I think I've read that somewhere, too.

There are articles that talk about it, and how some people have been getting sued by the remaining Heaven's Gate cult members for trying to use their symbols or other things in albums/album covers/videos. I remember hearing about how mumble rapper, Lil Uzi Vert, was getting sued by them for trying to use their stuff on his album, Eternal Atake.

Mental illness is ruthless and will take you down within days if you don't work with people who can help you. I remember watching some of his videos when they showed up in recommended every now and then. Fake or not, this is pretty fuckin sad in terms of how fast he's gone downhill. Take your meds, guys.

I will say though, from what we know, it didn't seem like he was seeking any help or open to get it. While it's sad, it's not that surprising that it got to this level. You have to want the help and understand you need it to recover or stay stable :/

I remember one time that Etika said he broke up with an ex on good terms (I forget when) but when he mentioned getting his "refund"/compensation for the PS Vita Lawsuit where he only got a measly 25 bucks for false advertising (Long story short, a good amount of the features advertised were not there making some versions of the console very inoperable) he said something along the lines of how he feels bad for those who got a Vita except for one person, his "bitch GF has it so i aint sorry for her" I don't know if that was the one he had recently broken up with that he also claimed was on good terms, nor do I have the video on hand to confirm. I don't remember its upload date either, but it was more than likely around or before the time he mentioned Venus Project in the Facts video where he talked about himself a lot. We have no current time frame of when he could've joined, but I could definitely see this event being a precursor due to his claim of a "bitch GF"

Just wanted to pop in and say that people who bait suicide are scum of the earth. You hurt your love ones and everyone around you when you say things like that and doing it for sympathy and attention only makes it more pathetic.
