The natural way Progressives work means Entryism is a religion to these people. Democrats have been complaining about that shit for years because it's how they managed to take over basically every left-wing community on the internet. Correspondingly, it's also why they dominate the cultural space despite provably being hated by most of it.
See, the Progressives know they're not as numerous as they like to pretend. They can't win any battle of public opinion fairly, because there isn't enough of them. They're not numerous, just loud, and because of that, they rely on institutional power structures to work their angles, since they will never actually have a mandate to do so otherwise.
The cycle is simple enough: Progressives naturally feel an ideological adherent is inherently superior to a nonebeliever regardless of other qualifications, so they quickly appoint cronies once in a position to do so. They then work at appointing more and more, to higher and higher positions, until they've spread like a cancer throughout an organization's leadership. This actually directly coincides to the company bleeding talent and competent staff, because being down with the cause is more valuable than any actual qualifications (this is also why so many of them hate meritocracy and go out of their way to circumvent it; a huge proportion of them are basically diversity hires), so in many cases a company too badly infested fails - usually because it chases diversity hard enough that anyone who knows what they're doing fucks off for greener pastures, leaving the company saturated with ideological bellends.
It's no coincidence that the areas that keep having legions of virtue-signaling dipshits keep having explosions of Troon and loon staff: It's a direct consequence. The good news is that eventually this always hits the bottom line, and once it does, self-preservation will win out every time.
