If you're that delusional it's hard to realize you even need help. Friends and family did all they could. This is another person failed by the system and the awful mental health care structure in the U.S.

No, staying quiet about it would be a disservice. Dude might have been a bit of a sped, but he struggled with his mental health for years and nothing serious was done to help him ("agitated?" for real?), and this was the result. He jumped from a bridge and crushed his head into his torso. Talk about it.

Depending on the personality, as far as I can tell. If you're someone at least somewhat empathetic, plenty people will F, like with Bisquit.
If you spend hours and hours reading about a person and observing them, even for laughs, you'll end up growing somewhat attached to them.
