Because people crave for attention, and pretending like whichever celebrity passed away recently was one of your idols is a surefire way of getting it.

Because nobody wanted him to actually die. Dead people don't do exceptional shit we can laugh at.

It's the cycle of death. When you die you become an angel and an inspiration. People around you paint you as a saint that could do no wrong. A couple of weeks later no one will mention you again.

I ain't even gonna pretend I heard of Etika before his mental breakdown and acting like a clown leading to his suicide, but it's always sad to watch someone slip until they can't take anymore. Hope he's chilling on the other side.

and fuck New York for not giving this nigga the proper hold and treatment he needed. He was clearly fucking Bipolar and most likely Bipolar I. That prolonged mania and accompanying psychosis is no joke. Like someone else said, I hope his family sues the shit out of the hospital he was held in.

I feel like it's perfectly fine to mourn him, but I think calling him an inspiration is a huge overexaggeration. I had seen plenty of his Smash Bros content before on YouTube and I thought they were bottom-of-the-barrel garbage. That being said, Etika didn't seem to be a bad person, just very mentally disturbed and in desperate need of proper mental help. He definitely didn't deserve to go out like this, and I hope he's able to find peace.

He's mostly known in the Smash and Nintendo scene because he makes over the top reactions to things Nintendo puts out, especially when Smash 4 was hot, he is also a meme because of his over the top reactions.

I'm not gonna pretend I was actually a huge fan or anything, but after watching a few videos after the fact, especially his suicide note one, sent a pang through my cold, dead heart. This is why you don't suicide bait, kids. Because when you get ready to do it for real, no one believes you. RIP all the same, though.

Boogie is one of the few people, along with those malingering munchies, that I wouldn't feel a single ounce of remorse for if he offed himself. He's too much of a narcissist to do it, though.
