I'll put my non-lawyering e-peen on the line, and make a Bold Prediction that we will know
exactly what's going on based solely on the questions asked today to Vic in deposition.
Questions Casey would ask Vic if he has a solid defense, and just wants details on the record:
- Vic, are you aware of any complaints registered to cons about your behavior? What were they about?
- Have you ever been banned from a con before February 2019? If so, why?
- Has an employer ever investigated you for misconduct? How many times? What was the nature of that misconduct?
- Has anyone, friend or co-worker, delivered an ultimatum for you to change your ways?
If Vic says Yes to any of these, then there is some fire behind all that Twitter/PULL/Tumblr smoke. Lawyers aren't supposed to ask questions they don't already know the answer to, and if MoRonica is telling the truth, Casey would know about any damning backstory to the "sudden" con bans.
If he says No, then the civil conspiracy and defamation looks incredibly likely.
Questions Casey would ask if he has no defense and is desperate to embarrass Vic during a TCPA period:
- Vic, have you ever slept with a fan at a con? How many times?
- How many teenagers have you hugged at cons? How many have you kissed? Were their parents there?
- Tell us about your infidelity to your fiance.
- How do you reconcile your flirting and womanizing with your oh-so-righteous Christian beliefs?
- Why did you issue an apology if you're innocent?
- Why were you ready to agree to Shane's SUPER SECRET STATEMENT saying that you're the worst sex pest in the universe?
These are the kind of things you could smear Vic with, to cloud the issue so that the tiny number of stories they can source, likely from Monica and her closest friends, sound like the "proof" on top of the innuendo.
Of course Casey could ask all these questions anyway, using the first set as a fishing expedition if his exceptional clients had nothing solid, and he hopes some unknown facts might help him out. I say let's see which areas he
focuses on, spends the most time on; that tells us what kind of evidence he's looking to stockpile.
