Jennifer Lynn Hunt is a former anime convention staffer that garnered a degree of attention online in 2019 when she began speaking out against voice actor Vic Mignogna. She accused him of squeezing her rear end during a hug at an anime convention a decade earlier and of touching other young women inappropriately.
Her alleged accounts of sexual abuse are all-too-familiar to her parents. She was the girl who cried wolf on everyone growing up and her stories weren’t to be believed. State psychiatrists diagnosed her with several mental disorders in her teens, including bipolar, schizophrenia, and paranoia. She thought they were crazy.
She has a pattern of behavior that is clearly evident in her efforts to destroy anime conventions and her former employers. Anyone who interacts with her is at risk of becoming her next target. Her mental illness makes her imagine enemies everywhere.
Sexual Assault Allegations
Lynn has accused an untold number of men of sexually assaulting her. She claims to have been raped multiple times, sexually assaulted by a drunk co-worker while driving her car, groped by multiple roommates while sleeping, molested by a friend while visiting his home, followed by a man while shopping for groceries and sexually harassed in the workplace. When she has reported some of these alleged incidents, she claims to have been laughed at by the police and her boss.
Her mother was unable or unwilling to care for her mental health condition and gave her away at 15 to live in group homes and with foster care families. She accused her of being a horrifically abusive drug addict.
She accused the family of Jehovah’s Witnesses that took her in of beating, raping and starving her.
They were reportedly only interested in converting her to their religion. She said she spent a few days in juvenile hall for running away from them. She also said she spent almost three months in juvenile hall for running away from them. Inconsistencies in her stories can be observed when she repeats them and forgets what lies she previously told.
She accused her roommate Tim of groping her as she slept. She said that he and his friends used her computer to download underage/rape shit on Kazaa, a file-sharing application. She said that she shared about 1000 files. Most of it was anime and her roommate’s porn collection, which she would delete to make room for more anime. She regrets not reporting him to the police.
She accused another roommate of groping her as she slept. She said the cop laughed at her when she reported him.
She accused a client at her job of sexually harassing her. She said her boss laughed at her when she reported it.
She accused her friend Charles, a printer for the Anime Central convention, of molesting her in his home. She said that senior management at Anime Central weren’t interested in doing anything about it as they couldn’t risk losing his services. She said that he continues to work in comics to this day.
While working as a contractor for Super League Gaming, she accused a drunk coworker of sexually assaulting her as she was driving him home in her car. She didn’t report him to the police, opting to let the company handle the matter. She spoke with the CEO of Super League Gaming, Ann Hand, and was reportedly comfortable with a final warning, mandatory counseling, and an apology. Her contract ended a few weeks later, as scheduled, and they gave her a good recommendation.
About two years later, she was dissatisfied with this resolution and tried to destroy her former employer by emailing their investors (Riot Games, Epic Games, Clash of Clans, Minecraft, Nickelodeon). Ann Hand reached out to her, wondering why she was doing this. Lynn accused her of trying to gaslight her.

Recently, she claimed that a man followed her through the grocery store. She said that he broke into tears telling her how pretty she was, alternated between not wanting to fuck her but admitting that he did. She said he yelled at random guys in the store, telling them to date her.

At 34 my next company had me harrassed by a client. The President of the company, when told the next day laughed and said “oh yeah that kind of thing happens.” She also thought I should take it as a compliment that I am still ‘cute’.

#BoycottTekko
She incited a social media firestorm against Tekko, an anime convention she volunteered at from 2004-2008. Labeling herself as the Ghost of Conventions Past, she haunted them for inviting Vic Mignogna to their convention in 2007 and 2010. She claimed that he had stalked a female musical guest, Mari Iijima, during their event in 2007. Mari's hotel room was said to have been secretly moved and she was said to have been assigned a security detail to keep Vic away from her.
Tekko was inundated with angry tweets despite the fact that this wasn't the same Tekko. The organization and personnel that had run the event back then were long gone. Tekko had new owners as of late 2012 and no records of anything were passed along. She started a boycott and eventually demanded Tekko fire their CEO Peter Gaudoin after he tried to reason with her. She said that they were complicit in the abuse of women.
When evidence started coming out that contradicted her claims, she said that the alleged stalking incident actually happened in 2010, not 2007. There was just one problem. She was studying in Japan at the time. She was never at Tekko in 2010 and it was revealed that the affidavit she had written was assembled by piecing poor, out of context, notes and conversations together. She pretended to have witnessed something she did not and was only caught because she messed up the date.
Lynn Hunt’s notoriety increased when she incited a social media firestorm against Tekko, an anime convention she volunteered at from 2004-2008. Labeling herself as the Ghost of Conventions Past, she haunted them for inviting Vic Mignogna to their convention in 2007 and 2010.
(Her reason for doing this was because they never responded to the email she sent them weeks earlier)
In her tweets, she claimed that Vic Mignogna had stalked a female musical guest, Mari Iijima, during their event in 2007. She said that Mari’s hotel room was secretly moved and that she was assigned a security detail to keep Vic away from her.
The non-profit organization that currently runs the Tekko convention, the Pittsburgh Japanese Culture Society, responded to her tweets the next day with a PR statement. They said that no member of their current board of directors was present during the years in question and that they had no information pertaining to any incidents prior to 2013 when the convention was run by a different organization, Tekkoshocon Inc.
She was enraged by their response and created the #BoycottTekko hashtag. She said that Tekko was complicit in the abuse of women.
Tekko’s CEO, Peter Gaudoin, joined Twitter to talk to her about her concerns. He tried to explain that she was mad at the wrong people.
She wouldn’t listen to reason and told him to resign.
She and the social media mob she had incited were only interested in one thing: bullying Tekko into denouncing Vic Mignogna.
In an email to Peter Gaudoin, she asked him to apologize for his unprofessional conduct and accused him of trying to get "brownie points with the alt-right comicsgate folks who jumped on a bandwagon and will never attend your convention."
He apologized for his comments about her wanting attention, but Tekko would not make a statement regarding Vic Mignogna as that could get them sued. He said it should be enough for her to know that they hadn't invited him in 2019 and he was not scheduled to attend in 2020 either.
After reading this, she immediately published their emails and demanded Tekko's board of directors fire him.
Two months earlier, Vic Mignogna had filed a lawsuit against several people who had accused him of misconduct. She tried to help them by testifying about the alleged 2007 stalking incident at Tekko in a sworn affidavit.
It was part of the defendant’s motion to dismiss the lawsuit.
Her allegation was reported on by Anime News Network and bolstered by voice actor Brett Weaver, who was also present at that year’s event. He said that Mari Iijima had asked him to sit between her and Vic at a panel all three were participating in as Vic had made her uncomfortable.
Photos taken during the panel did not match up with what Brett had described. He hadn’t prevented Vic from sitting next to Mari. When questioned by Anime News Network, he couldn’t explain the discrepancy between his memory and the photographic evidence.

Lynn also admitted that she had made a mistake. She said that she had messed up the date while piecing poor, out of context, notes and conversations together. The alleged 2007 stalking incident that she had harassed Tekko about never happened.
She revised her allegation, shifting it forward in time, from 2007 to 2010, when Vic and Mari were both in attendance again. The problem for her in doing so is that she was not a member of the Tekko staff in 2010, nor was she present at the event. In fact, she wasn’t even in the country at the time. She had traveled to Japan to study as an exchange student, as documented on her Little Lady in Tokyo blog.

She had no first hand knowledge of anything that may or may not have transpired at Tekko in 2010, but testified about it anyways under the penalty of perjury using notes written by Jim Gogal, former CEO of Tekkoshocon Inc., who told her what had happened. This was never mentioned in her affidavit.
Peter Gaudoin had said that when the Pittsburgh Japanese Culture Society replaced Tekkoshocon Inc. in late 2012, it was not on the best of terms.
It would appear that the former CEO of Tekkoshocon Inc, Jim Gogal, was still harboring ill will toward the new owners of Tekko in 2019. He told Lynn Hunt about an alleged stalking incident that happened under his watch and she used that information to smear the Pittsburgh Japanese Culture Society, who had absolutely nothing to do with it.

#BoycottAnimeMilwaukee
Anime Milwaukee is another convention that she harassed. She started a boycott and as with Tekko, they put out a PR statement and had a representative talk to her about her concerns. Amanda “Jinnie” Mcmanus was a fellow affiant, she had written a statement, like Lynn, in support of the people Vic Mignogna had sued. That didn't save her. Lynn demanded her resignation, said she was part of the problem and accused her of enabling the abuse of women at conventions for 20 years and bullying her through her We Run Anime Cons Facebook group. She said that Jinnie hated anime and was only involved in cons because it allowed her to have power.
Lynn sees herself as a leader in exposing all the alleged abusers in the anime convention scene. Her assault on Tekko was the first big battle in her campaign to clean up the industry. In addition to #BoycottTekko, she also created the hashtag #BoycottAnimeMilwaukee and called on their entire board to resign, alleging that they had covered up abuse at their convention.
Her attention was directed elsewhere for the next several months, but after Vic Mignogna’s lawsuit was dismissed, she returned to condemning Anime Milwaukee for their prior association with Ryan Kopf and Corey Wood and for having invited Vic to their convention in 2019. (An invitation that was canceled in January)
Amanda “Jinnie” Mcmanus of Anime Milwaukee attempted to open a dialogue with her. She claimed ignorance about Vic, a fact she testified to in a sworn affidavit, but was committed to doing better in the future.
Lynn was skeptical that Anime Milwaukee could be trusted to adequately address their perceived shortcomings when they previously ignored them. She intended to hold them accountable.
As with Tekko, Anime Milwaukee soon put out a PR statement in response to her accusations. They said that they had already parted ways with Ryan Kopf and Corey Wood, the two other individuals she had been concerned about in addition to Vic.
Jinnie said that she was quite misinformed about her show and gave Lynn her phone number so they could discuss any issues she had with Anime Milwaukee directly.
The two would talk later that day and Lynn said she was satisfied with what she heard.
Lynn soon changed her mind and criticized Jinnie for her friendship with Chris Slatosch, CEO of the Kameha Con convention, who she accused of harassing cosplayer Dominique Skye at his event.
About three weeks later, she was done playing nice and unloaded on Anime Milwaukee in a 26-tweet tirade. She said that Jinnie was part of the problem and needed to resign.
She went off on them the next day and the day after. She was livid that Jinnie said the email she sent to Tekko looked like extortion.
She tagged We Run Anime Cons, a Facebook group founded by Jinnie, and said that she had enabled the abuse of women for 20 years.
Even when her allies asked her to please stop attacking Anime Milwaukee, she wouldn't.
She accused Jinnie of hating anime and only running conventions for profit and power.
She wanted every director and board of director at Anime Milwaukee to resign.
She went after anyone she could find associated with Jinnie and Anime Milwaukee.
She kept putting out her “reminders” every so often to warn people.
She accused Jinnie and her crew of bullying her through her We Run Anime Cons Facebook group.
She restarted her boycott of Anime Milwaukee.

#CancelKopf / @LibertyCityCon
When she learned of Vic Mignogna's upcoming appearance at Liberty City Con, she went after their event, their guests and sponsors. Reni Mimura, a guest who was invited to Liberty City Con, thanked her for bringing information about Ryan Kopf to her attention. When Reni didn't cancel her appearance, Lynn said that she was part of the problem and was helping a rapist make money.
Liberty City Con capitulated to her and cancelled Vic’s appearance, despite previously stating that their contract with him did not allow them to do so. They risked a lawsuit to appease her and she still told people not to attend.
Vic was booked at a venue near Liberty City Con, Open Jar Studios, so fans could come and meet him. She called Open Jar Studios and said he was a sex pest, necessitating another change of venue.
Sex Pest Antics
The reason she is so fanatical about so-called sex pests in the anime convention scene is because she was one. At 19, while working as a volunteer for Anime Central, she dressed as a man and recruited two underage girls in attendance to preform in a "skit" with her that she had written for the masquerade. They play acted as adoring fan girls, who kept pestering her until she gave in to their sexual advances. She locked lips with one young girl then forced herself on the other.
Two weeks before the event, she made a post on the Anime Music Videos forum lamenting that all the cute girls she met at conventions were straight.
On this same forum, she made a post encouraging a member to come to a convention so he could, "look at cute underage girls in skimpy outfits." She has also admitted to regularly sharing "underage/rape shit" on a file-sharing application that she claims her roommate downloaded on her computer.
When this old clip resurfaced, she said the girls were something like 2-3 years younger than her at most.
She eventually decided they were both 17, old enough to consent in Illinois, but has never offered any proof to this day and they remain unidentified.
Two weeks after Anime Central 2003, she wrote a blog post about her worry that she would one day succumb to some primal urgest and commit a felony.
Several months later, she wrote about her roommate’s underage porn collection that was on her computer.
In 2006, she made a post encouraging a member on the AMV forum to come to a convention so he could "look at cute underage girls in skimpy outfits."
Unlocked App
Anime conventions weren’t the only businesses she harassed. She also tried to have Vic removed from the Unlocked app, a video streaming platform that allows actors to FaceTime with fans. She lied and said that Vic was using the app to bully and harass then delete the evidence afterward. His streaming history is available for anyone to view and every week he encourages people to be kind and nice to each other. She said that Bryce Papenbrook, the co-founder of Unlocked, was an apologist for sexual abuse by allowing Vic on his platform and that Unlocked was enabling the gaslighting of victims.
Compulsive Lying
She frequently lies about her age online in order to make herself appear more knowledgeable in whatever argument she happens to be in. At the age of 35, she claimed to be nearly 40 at times, with 20 years of experience in her data analytics job.
On Twitter, she repeatedly bragged about how her 10-year-old niece was a better artist than most members of comicsgate. She posted a picture of a creature her niece had allegedly drawn on a tablet in Microsoft Paint. The niece who sent it to her was quoted as saying, "Auntie L, I don't know if I want to draw monsters anymore."
When the image was discovered to have been created by a DeviantArt user by the name of Darkcloud013 in 2011, Lynn changed her story and said that her sister had sent the picture and that she was a high school dropout who didn't know any better.
Six-Figure Filth
She likes to present herself as a professional businesswoman making 6-figures, but pictures from inside her apartment paint a different picture. They show that she lives like an unkempt cat lady. Her couch is covered in flea dirt, she leaves her garbage anywhere she pleases and she takes picture perfect photos of her food, seemingly oblivious to the disgusting mess around it.
Jennifer Lynn Hunt - True & Honest Woman
Regarding the assumption that Lynn is transgender, that does not seem to be the case. She explicitly states that she isn't trans, and she is called Jennifer in her grandfather's obituary in 1994 when she was 11 years old.
Doing background research on her family history was difficult since she was put into foster care as a juvenile, so people search databases don't link her with her family. Her father also married several times. Her stepsister (from her father's third marriage) even shares the same first and middle names as Lynn, so it gets confusing sorting it out.
Thanks to @The Ghost of ODB for helping with the genealogical research.
