Probably won't. It has been my experience that most girls are touched by some sick fuck like this low life pile of trash at some point in their childhood, they just deal with it somehow. If you have any close friends who are girls, they usually come out and talk about that stuff, especially at fucking random. But they never go to the cops or make a big stink out of it. Even guys, I would estimate 75% of boys are touched when they are younger.

Those are some weird generalisations there.

Well, I dunno what to tell ya... I am basing that on my own experience with people close to me, so if you find that weird, dunno what to say. Perhaps the fact I said "my experience" should clue you in on the scope of the "generalisations" made.
Yeah I think what @Saney is saying is that those numbers seem a little suspect, friend. That would mean that the majority of the gal and guy friends I got have been molested or abused at some point in their lives, and I find that real hard to believe based upon how well I know these people. If you were to line up 10 people in a row and tell me 3 or 4 of them had experience with such heinous crimes then I'd be more inclined to believe you, but 75% is a real high number to be bandying around without any sort of empirical evidence.

You're asking for empirical evidence when I introduced my take on the issue as being my experience... Lol, okay! Well I have nothing to gain from making something like that up, especially when my point was that most people who are molested do not go to the cops or anything like that.

@yawning sneasel What they are getting at is this: there are legit statistics for how many women/men/girls/boys are molested every year and how many of those are estimated to be reported or not. So you coming out and saying "in my opinion all girls are molested and 75% of boys are" was not only unnecessary because there are stats for that, but those numbers are so astronomically against the norm/stats it's crazy.

I completely did not say that. I said "In my experience" not "In my opinion". "In my experience" is an identification of the population I am speaking on being people who I have been relatively close with. "In my opinion" would assume a larger population related to my assertion. You understand that, right? Now why it is that this small part of my post is becoming the focal point of discussion, I have no clue.

It can be inferred that you meant it to apply to a larger population because you mentioned it in reference to Nick's sister. So unless Nick's family are people you grew up with, you are implying your experiences hold true for most people.

I mean, I get that that's not your main point. But I think people are reacting to it strongly because you seem to be saying not, "Most victims don't go to the police," but rather "Most victims don't go to the police because it basically happens to everyone and is something you just deal with." Idk if that's what you meant to say, but that's how it reads to me at least.

Now getting how that could be inferred...

100% not what I meant. I meant what I said... It happens to a lot of people, and rather than going to the police about it, they deal with it on their own. Now if you are assuming I am saying that molestation is no big deal or that its something that is acceptable because it happens frequently, then that's a bizarre assumption to make. It isn't a healthy approach, but we're human and we don't always reach out for help for numerous reasons. I think I am done responding to this line of discussion, kind of surprised that the illogical assumptions and inferences happened. CWCki users are pretty bright in my experience.
