Extra Credits - leftie gaming channel that had two of its members accused of "misconduct" in only 2 months

Looking at the video and I'm pretty sure they're deleting comments because internet historians post is gone.
Oh shit, I’m glad I archived it. Heres another funny one.

If we're already moralfagging: Declaring all German soldiers of WWII to be Nazis is unironically highly offensive to millions of people and their descendants.
But hey, they're only old dead white men, who cares LUL

Im friends with tones of those "nordic" niggers/ half slavs and all of them are really proud of thier grandparents fighting with the nazis in ww2. It was a defense of their homelands against the ruskies.
One of my buddies is a pure blooded Estonian whose grandfather was drafted into the Estonian SS as a medic. He's proud of it full stop. The Ukrainian Banderists were full blooded Ukrainian partisans. They on the whole tended to be ideologically committed to not having a repeat of the holodomor and also fuck the Jews, so they tended to get along pretty well with the other anti soviet fuck the jews power at the time.

Normalizing Nazis should really imply that it's somehow portraying Nazis in a good light. But in a multiplayer, it's literally just a skin. There's no story around it. The objective is just to kill the other team before they do. Unless there were a bunch of high profile games with Nazi protagonists happily gassing Jews and sieg heiling at every opportunity, there is literally nothing to talk about.

Can you really think of a single game where you play as a Nazi and the story and gameplay is built around that? Or even better, a positive depiction of Nazis? Yeah, try to find anything like that after pop culture turned them into generic bad guys for decades. Honestly, that would be a far better topic to discuss.

I can think of only one; the video game version of I Have No Mouth And I Must Scream. Nimdok is a Nazi doctor and a Jew who turned his family and friends over to the Nazis to further his own career.

Even then, Nimdok isn’t portrayed as a good human being, just as a sympathetic figure. The game goes to great lengths to show the horrors of the concentration camps, too.

I’m a history sperg, though admittedly I lean right on most issues. Normally this channel produces decent content when they’re just discussing history or mythology so I’ve largely stayed out of this discussion. Just watched the “Stop Normalizing Nazis” And it was pretty dumb. All I can say is that I understand why Nazis are offensive to certain demographics certainly, but it’s that outrage and offense that generates either a desire to kill the enemy or some sense of comedy when they’re being lampooned. This means more people playing, this means more sales. That’s precisely why Nazis are such a common thing in video games, and so what if we have another case of some guy who decides he identifies with the Bad Guys and takes to the ideology? Why should a game developer be held responsible for that when their goal was to entertain and inform not convert?

Overly Sarcastic Productions do similar videos in the same vein without the political bias, but who am I kidding? If it discusses history, linguistics, or geography I’m going to be watching because those are my passions.

How can they not see the arguments they are making is not that far different than someone like Jack tompson arguments about violence in video games. I'm not surprised they are deleting comments considering how shit that video is and stuff like this shows you can never take them seriously again the video was borderline parody.

Exactly. So, they shoehorned the "also terrorists" part into the already-completed script to try to get more people to agree with them and seem less agenda-driven.

They only mention terrorists like once in passing, and after, all the examples of indoctrination websites and desensitization iconography only reference Nazis.
Occam's razor says it was just that they genuinely did edit this or give it a once over, they got to that part and realized the gaping hole in their argument with using "NAZIS" as a big scary tag word so they threw it in real quick because they knew the internet would have jumped down their throat about games like Counter Strike. It's one slippery slope away from Jack Thompson "Killing people is bad, too, why dont we get rid of violent video games?"

The only game that really can be okay is Minecraft. Oh except Notch is a nazi!!!!! FUCK IT BAN ALL VIDEO GAMES. Lets play with rocks, and NO THROWING THEM.

When the Nazi video described having fighting games between different colors I immediately thought of Splatoon. Also, I hate how they assumed that people are so stupid that they can’t distinguish video games from reality. For being a gaming channel, they really don’t understand the point of games.
