This entire series would have been great as a build up to some sort of found footage horror series. What seems like a positive video about facing his past goes to hell when the malignant spirit of boogie's mother returns. THAT would have been great and I would have gained a bit of respect for the fat man. Such a missed opportunity. Could have gone the whole Blair Witch angle too and had Jessie facing the corner of a wall somewhere after the two get separated. Would have been perfect, with things starting out pretty normal (1st video would be the same) but then after dinner things would start to get worse. I almost thought they we're going to try that when Jessie said he heard noises and boogie kept making such a big deal about people smashing shit up for no reason.

I'd argue that Booger is utilizing his remaining wealth efficiently actually. He's got like 10 years to live? Maybe 20 max? Saving money and being fiscally responsible isn't an option for him because he'll just leave behind a wealthy estate to people he doesn't give a shit about. He has no wife, no children, no connection to his remaining family, and barely any close friends to speak of.
