Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

Just want to inject some lightheartedness into this maelstrom idiocy, but even as a sworn peace officer, who arrested perps, testified against them, and was qualified to carry a pistol... Vic still couldn't get away from fucking cameras.

And somehow, despite being this super public dude, who is never anywhere other than in front of a camera, and immediately, as soon as he sees a female of any kind, is immediately grabbing them by the hair and raping the shit out of them, is also a mega-ninja who is never caught on camera doing it.

Except the people that "knew him for 15+ years" wanted to assassinate him in every conceivable way? Why should he listen to them??? Because they clearly don't like him?
Also, it's very possible to do something inappropriate unintentionally. Then it falls to the person who felt uncomfortable to fucking say something so it doesn't happen again instead of standing around like a retard and suddenly deciding years later that they didn't like what he did.

So let me get this straight Vic says he ONLY kisses girls on the cheek because they ask for it and they are mad about that. FUCK THE ANIME COMMUNITY
It's not the Anime Community, it's the malignant cancer that was able to get away with this all this time until now, called the WOKE Culture.

Vic appears to be throwing Nick under the bus here.

Call me crazy, but I don't think the judge will be particularly perturbed by a consensual kiss on the cheek, and I doubt desperate spin from Twitter femcels is going to change that.

Just wanted to get slightly history spergy here about the concept of "champerty and maintenance". The concept refers, in common law, to the practice of a powerful individual lending his backing to a slight or weak or frivolous lawsuit, usually in exchange for a portion of any proceeds derived from such lawsuit.

In history, this usually was seen when a powerful person, usually a nobleman, backed a weak suit against a personal enemy. Usually with money, but sometimes with threats of force. As @AnOminous said earlier, it's a zombie concept nowadays. We don't have Lords commanding military forces overawing a weak judicial system anymore. We don't give preferential treatment to a plaintiff now, no matter who raises money for the suit or who stands behind the plaintiff. They can't credibly argue Nick is going to surround the courthouse with armed men to intimidate the judge. They can't credibly argue that the court is going to give undue weight to one litigant over another because they have more money. Not to mention that this lawsuit isn't weak, or frivolous, or insubstantial. Not to mention that if this were champerty, just why the fuck would Vic have filed suit against a rich and powerful company like Funimation?

I think they're trying to argue that Nick started the GFM solely to intimidate the defendants in exchange for a cut. Problems with that argument: Nick doesn't get a cut and financial documents subpoenaed from GFM will show exactly that. I think the judge will look at the plain language used in the GFM, the fact that the funds go directly into an IOLTA with no input from Nick as to how funds are spent, and the fact that the funds used have indeed been spent filing and pursuing a lawsuit, and deny the fuck out of this.

I would guess, based on the whole thrust of their activity lately, that they're desperate to try to knock out the GFM. They're assuming Vic, if forced to fall back on his own funds, would drop the case. They seem to be relying on some sort of theory that Vic is as broke as Jamie and MoRonica. They're also assuming that if the GFM goes away, Vic would have no other way to crowdfund legal fees. Just plain dumbly optimistic reasoning.

Edit: Holy shit, Lemoyne's just mad Nick insulted him online. What a disingenuous hail-mary pleading, this isn't going to work. The only way the hearing on this could be any funnier than the motion itself would be if Chupp berates Lemoyne so hard, it causes a fatal heart attack. And then Lemoyne's dead body shits itself, loudly.

Oh boy. Big yikes.
Not only is KV gonna latch onto this like it's the last female on earth, but it does make Nick look bad. He's been on and on about how Vic said he was okay with it. Now in this depo it looks like he's admitting that he never gave permission for it to be done and that Nick never asked him and just did it.
I'm thinking that Nick just made the GFM and then just told Vic later that he wanted to help him but the way it's asked and worded leaves a bad taste in the mouth.
That's a L for ISWV.

Incorrect take. Vic is being honest. Nick has always maintained that the GFM was his idea and that he did have to talk Vic into it. His answers are consistent. And Nick will be fine with them because it's true.

KV funding Douche's "for the lulz" Texas Certification yesterday proves they will latch onto anything. Nick has always maintained that he had to talk Vic into the GFM and that Vic was initially apprehensive about it.

He also added that the other VA's do it too, what that fat troon conveniently omitted. They turned something that's an everyday thing in many parts of the world into something bad. Do they hate Christianity because not even religion is as puritan as they are?

It was Ty who payed for this, he wants that idiot to defend his thot in court.

I understand that part. What I'm saying is that the way the question and answer is framed makes it seem like Vic never approved of the GFM to begin with and had only reluctantly agreed to let it continue because Nick just made the GFM and never asked him first before just making it. It makes it seem like he's implying that Nick strong armed him into agreeing by making the GFM first and asking him/trying to convince him later.
