TGWTG Linkara / Lewis Lovhaug - HMMMMMMM? (Dead Gay Muppet Gangbang)

"Let The Ads Play" was the video made in response to his Blip income being cut off after Blip had an adpocalypse of its own, which was 100% predictable due to it being absurdly unsustainable. Linkara knew this was coming because people told him, which he acknowledges in the video.

He could have taken it as a lesson, but instead he took it as an opportunity to lecture his fans. He got saved by having other avenues like Patreon, but it's as if he didn't expect the bottom to fall out from ad revenue in the first place. And I'm SURE he has doesn't ever anticipate Patreon pulling the rug out from under him, because he doesn't learn.

I'll give Linky this much credit. He's been able to adapt well to sudden disruptions in his career and stay afloat. He hasn't bottomed-out the way Maddox has.

Guys like Linkara give the platforms they use all the power by being so embarrassingly dependent on it. And when I mean "guys like LInkara", I refer to guys that treat this as their "job". There are plenty of Pateron cosplay thots that do numerous things on the side (selling bathwater being a funny example of this) but they don't consider "Pateron" their job, some are and can still be models. Obviously the Blip TV thing, being over, it's almost crazy how it was the defining battle of quantity over quality that the internet is.

So it naturally doesn't sit well when they take it out on their audience and potential audience because pewdiepie and markliplier drooling and making faces in front of a camera has made them 10 times more successful than LInkara feels like he is owed from the hours of editing, and writing that he does. And the funny thing is, you can tell they know this. And you can feel it somewhat ooze out with how much of a hopeless give and take relationship they have with their platforms. They're not really self employed in that sense, they're at the mercy of their platform.

Give him the cookie, but then take it away when you remember when he has a surge in bills, or taxes, he does an emergency live stream, or marathon of videos. He puts the weight entirely on his direct fans to do the lifting. Yes, the last couple of times, they came in and paid his bills for him, but you can only do that so many times before questions are asked by even the most die-hard fans.

Is his situation really this bad?

I'm definitely on the side of saying that Linkara is an arrogant little shit, but I'm far more amused in his ongoing struggle to prove to himself that this is a job. How does one have a "Pay My Taxtheth" emergency stream and not immediately come to the conclusion that this whole internet star thing ain't workin'?

And people would be fooling themselves if they think that isn't happening again next year.

he owed the government over $7k in taxes and did an emergency stream less than a week from tax day.

I'd like to think that. Like most of these e-celebs, Again, I don't follow Linkara religously but I assume he hasn't fallen to DSP or Chris Chan levels of begging. But it always looks bad. No way to really sugar coat it, there's a sense of shame that just comes with seeing someone in such a state of desperation.

Fortunately, we have yet to see Linkara jerk off. Unfortunately, we all know what he jerks off to.
As far as I know Linkara didn't go crazy and buy a giant house the moment he started making near-6 figures a year, unlike idiots DSP and Spoony; all his videos seem to take place in the same eggshell colored apartment.

"Let the Ads Play" was literally Lewis complaining that people should turn off adblock when watching his videos.

It's amazing how le-writer with an English major and a show that has lore (dumb lore), can't come up with a way to explain the situation better.

"Hey, guys! I just realized it's my (__) year doing this and that's really cool. I never thought it's going to take off like this so thank you for your support, and special thank you to those who suffer through ad rolls. They're pain in the ass but they help me and my show so thank you for your patience".

Instead it's "WHAAAAAA! Watch the ads, Pig! You don't want me to take a regular job do you?!"

Six Figures is a bit of a generous assessment. I don't believe the upper end of what Social blade reports. If he really went from 6 figures and dropped to just below 30K a year in less than 5 years, then that's really fucking sad.

You also have to keep in mind Lewis has certain mental tics that makes changing his routine hard; this is why he is able to keep the same update schedule because his brain is wired with routine. Something like picking out and moving into a large house and signing mortgage papers might just be overwhelming to his brain.

Also, his cuck friend Fesworks around Lewis's period of highest income signed a mortgage and moved into a house and is thoroughly fucked in debt, so that might've scared Lewis out of home ownership.

So in short, he's afraid of change, and may be an eternal 15 year old. Those are more common than you think. Also, guys panicking when their money dwindled hilariously overplayed.

With his routine in stone, I wonder if he's truly happy doing what he's doing, or if he's just afraid to move on.

This popped up in my feed today. The last time I watched anything written by linkara I had to go to therapy. Not 5 minutes in and there's already clunky exposition.
I like old radio dramas and tried listening to this out of interest and it is beyond painful. Linkara clearly doesn’t know how to write for an audio medium and listening to a bunch of people smugly talk about horror films and make pop culture references for like 10 minutes is not entertaining in the slightest. I can’t believe they actually scripted this because it sounds like a bunch of people doing a normal podcast.

I haven't listened to it myself, but the immediate problem for me is that Linkara, along with most of Channel Awesome, don't have radio voices. Most of their voices are ear-grating, which is a huge problem when you're trying to go for an audio-based medium. At most, they sound like an intentionally annoying caricature you'd hear on a comedic radio show, not a serious radio drama.

I use to hate those uniformed "Radio Voices" but now Youtubers have made me appreciate them there are a lot of content creators who make interesting videos that are ruined by their voices take some voice acting classes people or get some tapes something.

As for Linkara and his relationships he's a weird mix of 21st century feminist SJW Virtual Signaler while trying to give this image of being a classic Midwest Kennedy's America Democrat out of Norman Rockwell or something. It's why a troon is perfect for him he can pass her off as a girl and him being normal while getting his freak show on behind close doors. As MisterBee pointed out his wife came to him and looking at her I wouldn't be shocked if we learned they have never had normal heterosexual relations and it's just her with a strap-on and him as the submissive.

That is exactly why I can't listen to the radio drama. Linkara's voice is the audio equivalent of Mickey Rourke's face. He speaks and ugly comes out.

Also, dude cannot act. He comes off whiny most of the time, and when he tries to act serious, he slips into that annoying false baritone that he does for Harvey Finevoice. And that lisp. Seriously, get a speech therapist. Get your tongue out of the way and put your teeth together when you speak, man. God!
