Sad fact is that this sort of thing happens a lot more than people realise. This has all the hallmarks of the classic broken teenage girl murder. I used to work in a law-enforcement-adjacent profession specialising in these sorts of cases. I'd say in most big cities this happens every few weeks. The profile of the victims are always the same:

- Fucked up family background
- Getting into drugs and sex way too young (often through street gangs)
- Untreated mental illness
- Juggling multiple older druggie boyfriends to get gear
- Boyfriends are just as fucked-up and broken as she is
- Parents are either absent, don't care, or are druggies too. Often the boyfriend is the family's dealer. ("I will statutory rape your underage daughter for free heroin. OK?" "Sure.")
- Boyfriend psychos out when she dumps him and kills her

Something like every other murder of a female minor that we came across followed this formula. It's the standard ghetto way for teenage girls to die. The only things that make this case different was that it played out live on Instagram, and that no Arabs were involved.
