Ok so why am I lumping these two together you might ask, well they are : 1. Cut from the same cloth , 2. Have frequently collaborated 3. This thread will need Variety After Once upon a time in Hollywood comes out it will get boring talking about just Tarantino . So here we have it , the thread about a Mexican cowboy and an Elvis impersonator who just so happen to make movies .

Also I wanna show you how each used buschemi :

No joke, get the book Rebel Without A Crew, talking about Robert Rodriguez' experience making El Mariachi.

It's one of the most inspirational books I've ever read and the fact the movie was made for only $7,000 dollars, and he was only 23 at the time he made it, almost made me take up film-making.

Anyone who makes Shark Boy and Lava Girl, or Spy Kids 2 tier shit is a legend in my book.

I still want Tarantino to direct a Star Trek movie.

Nigga, I want him to direct a Friday the 13th movie. I remember when that rumor came out and hearts were dashed instantly when Tarantino said he didn't want to do it.

From Dusk Till Dawn was the greatest vampire movie of all time.

Change My Mind.

It's very good but I think The Hunger is the best vamp film. Either that or Interview With a Vampire.

The Hunger is one of the earliest examples of an American/British guy capturing the aesthetic of Italian Horror movies.

You have a point with The Hunger, I just like how the vampires literally come out of nowhere in FDTD. There is no buildup or hints of vampires until midpoint, and then movie just pulls a complete 180 on the audience. If you didn't know it was a vampire movie when you sat down in the theatre, you'd think it was a heist film, and then all of a sudden -- VAMPIRES! That's why I think it's awesome.

Reservoir Dogs hasn't actually aged all that well in my opinion. It has kind of the same problem as Clerks where it was a novelty to see people sitting around and talking shit about pop culture in mundane conditions. Now, its kind of pedestrian. In some casses its almost a little annoying now that shit like Ready Player One has made it mandatory that pop culture references must go for maximum nerd cred. Gives me a reference or a side conversation here and there, but otherwise I'm kind of sick of the whole thing.

Also as much as I personally enjoy the movie Pulp Fiction, anyone talking about its "nonlinear storytelling" can eat shit. Pulp Fiction's storytelling is the same as just filling your story with a bunch of flashbacks but pretending they aren't flashbacks. The"Waiter! Coffee!" line at the end synchronizing the two plotlines was extremely impressive though, and probably the reason people think the non-linear gimmick was so compelling in the first place.

I unironically liked Django Unchained and Hateful Eight. Kill Bill was literally anime fanfiction but without the anime, so it just kind of turned me off. Inglorious Basterds was okay but it really showed the fact that it had been planned as a miniseries and then edited together later. Someone above me said Jackie Brown was Tarantino's best work. Its flawed, but I'm inclined to agree.

Even though I like the individual Planet Terror and Death Proof movies in Grindhouse, I'd sacrifice both of them to have just had an hour and thirty minutes of fake sleazy movie trailers. Would have been fun and entertaining while also have been giving a chance to up and coming filmmakers to maybe get an idea out there, like Hobo With a Shotgun ended up being.

Hell yes.

I'll never forget the first time I saw it. I didn't know that it was a vampire movie until the "reveal" in the middle of the movie happened. It was the best "what the fuck?" moment I had ever experienced watching a movie.

And it's one of my favorite movie soundtracks of all time. I always listen to it every October for Halloween.

Grindhouse was the most fun I've ever had seeing a movie in the theater, man was that a great experience.

Definitely one of my favorite movie going experiences as well, even if they don't hold up in a living room.

Death Proof is my least favorite QT movie but it was still fun in theaters.
