I agree that it's weird Jonathan isn't on the warpath about recordings.

Then I remembered he's a serial extortionist who likes to record people to hold power over them, and I realized, he's got recordings of his own. He probably thought he could leak them to show how put upon he'd been at the HRT hearing, and how he never got a fair shake. Or so he could use the recordings of his questioning to scare the next person into settling. He can't complain about all the recordings because he knows he has them, too.

Yaniv's never had this much attention before, right? I suspect they're actually a little out of their depth.
That, and the twitter critics are generating some pity responses from people. Yaniv doesn't have to do anything right now to get massive amounts of attention, as well as a little pity. There's no need put in effort to work out a good narrative for the ass assault.

Jesus christ, "physically uncomfortable to hear" as someone in the hearing said was right. Those sighs were visceral. I can't believe this is real. Give me your top hats because watching those videos officially got me Mad on the Internet.

Jonny's smug irrelevant unchallenged monologues, shameless interruptions, asking questions of his own (including about the lawyer's genitals), lying under oath, telling the woman he's dragging through this process that he can't tell her gender identity (implying she looks manly), and then on top of obviously relishing reliving every detail about this, he has the gall to demand compensation for missing work as if he respects anyone's time. Disgusting and disgraceful. Fuck everything about this.

The fact that so many people are turning up is helpful, it's going to make it harder for the Tribunal to clamp down on those recording the proceedings. Also it would be a major step for them to close the gallery, and something that would almost certainly attract more scrutiny.

It would be an action the media would have to respond to, at the very least you might expect a request for a transcript of the hearings to be made. Other people have previously mentioned the expense of using one of the approved transcription services, almost like the BCHT don't want people to do it.

The audio recordings from which transcripts can be made are not given to members of the public. Parties to the case can get the recordings on CD by filing an order with the tribunal. But a party who gets a recording is not allowed to transcribe or distribute the information in any way - so JCCF couldn't post the audio to its website or send us a mp4 - and must return the CD to the tribunal.

If it weren't for @Goinglikeelsie, looking into Cousineau's proceedings would be nearly impossible for members of the public.

I'm a bit vague about what Authority the BCHT has against people not party to the case. I was surprised that they were able to issue a publication ban against mentioning Yaniv's name.

A tribunal in the UK or Ireland would not be able to take action on its own part, so say they wanted to take action against people videoing them behaving like idiots, the Tribunal itself would need to make a complaint to the Police or courts.

Does anyone know if this is the case with the BCHT? I'm curious because they're starting to get so much criticism they may be tempted to lash out.
