I think it's most likely that Vic's encounters were all consensual.
That said, what I am beginning to understand is why the people who worked with or around Vic started to hate him. A lot of people, especially women, are going to feel a bit of empathy for someone in a relationship with a significant other that is brazenly cheating on them. My guess is that it just got to a point where they just despised him for it and wanted him gone.
They hated him cheating on and lying to Michelle so much that they refused to ever tell her so and actively tried to get in his pants. Makes sense.
Man I didn't even catch that he was involved in all this too. Fuck there goes both of the English male voice actors i actually liked enough to know their names. That just leaves Cherami Leigh and Trina Nishimura before dubs are on the backburner forever. They've both worked with Monica but neither one has said a damn word about any of this on social media. Even when @ing Monica in January. Strictly professional.
Tatum being the other male. Steins;gate is pretty much the only dub that I've been overjoyed by the good casting choice. (obv considering all 4 of these people are from it) As well as his work in spice and wolf.
I still think the guy traveling all the way to Cuba or w/e to track down that dog fucker/murderer and sicking an entire country against him and potentially changing laws for animal rights takes the cake.
Good Christ, even Seitz has fallen? At this point I really am all in on Todd and Vic making their own studio. maybe the few survivors like Cherami and Trina may make it. The last hope however, is Matthew Mercer. If he falls, then well, to quote Dante; "Abandon all hope, yee who enter here."
Have you two never heard of Crispin Freeman? The classiest guy in the anime dubbing industry, who got into things specifically because he saw what a bad reputation dubs had and wanted to make it more professional? This guy who is so much class he can backtalk to crazy fujos and the sub vs dub war and they can't do anything about it, because everything just rolls off of him? He voices Alucard, Itachi, Winston (the gorilla), and Kirei Kotomine.
David Vincent is another pretty swell guy. You may know him as the voice of Grimmjow, Gilgamesh, or Robin in Fire Emblem/Smash, depending on your flavor of nerd. You might also know him as the CEO of Unlocked, or 'that dude who refused to drop Vic from his streaming app even during the absolute height of kickvic'. He also regularly hosts 'Voice Acting 101' panels where he calls up random volunteers and takes them through the steps of how to voice act in anime, makes them say silly lines in silly voices, and has them (voice) act out a few silly scenes.
Related, Bryce Papenbrook - voice of every shounen protagonist - hasn't actually said anything on twitter (at least that he hasn't since deleted) on the matter at all, despite his name occasionally coming up as someone who might benefit from Vic's firing. He's also the other half of Unlocked, which as mentioned kept Vic in contact with his fans and making money even when every convention but Matsuri had cut him off.
These three have said not one single word on the matter because they have no need to kiss Sabat's hindquarters to be successful. The closest any of them have come to it is Crispin Freeman making a civil response to that insane boycott of Ryan Kopf. If you went digging through more VA feeds, particularly LA ones, you'd find others who also refused to comment on it (simply liking a tweet is a rather weak endorsement of it, as that doesn't appear on anyone's feed but the people mentioned in it so trying to slog through their 'likes' is rather too much effort for effect)
Don't buy into that whole 'the entire industry wants him dead and gone' narrative kickvic pushes. In reality most of the industry knows this is radioactive and won't touch it, and the people jumping in are mostly has-beens, wannabes, and people who are closely connected to Monica/Sabat. If you don't know enough VAs who aren't into kickvic, it's because you're only following that tiny funi clique.
Motherfucker. Sabat voices Arthur Watts on RWBY. Another connection to Rooster Teeth. I just didn't know Sabat voiced Armstrong.
Sabat voices All-Might and Captain Yami, too. Which sucks, because his voice acting is on-point for them, and particularly with AM's case really embodies the character to the point that his removal will be detrimental to the show's dub. But he just had to go for Vic because he couldn't
also voice Broly. It's tragic in every direction.
