Trump Derangement Syndrome - Orange man bad. Read the OP! (ᴛʜɪs ᴛʜʀᴇᴀᴅ ɪs ʟɪᴋᴇ ᴋɪᴡɪ ғᴀʀᴍs ʀᴇᴠɪᴇᴡs ɴᴏᴡ) 🗿🗿🗿🗿

This man must've freaked out quite a lot for his mother to have abandoned him.

I mean he admits that he screamed at her and called her a bigot, and I bet that's the toned-down version he thinks makes himself look better. And considering that his so-called "public appeal" to her is actually more of a public shaming, and his supposed plea at the end is actually just more lecturing her about how she needs to see that he was right all along and that she's the one who's hurt him, I'm betting it was not that one event that caused this. He's probably always been a mean, petty, cruel little shit to her, and his screaming at her that she was a Nazi for voting in a way he disapproved of was probably just the last straw.

I really praise the mother for her strength. It must be incredibly hard to cut a child out of your life, but it's clearly what's better for her since he's a fundamentally awful person who is undeserving of her love or support.

I'm sorry, but did a black man just threaten to beat up an elderly white man? I thought that never happens.

"Not long after the 2016 election, my mother informed me that she voted for Trump. I exploded. I told her she’d given in to ignorance and bigotry and that she’d callously ignored my warnings."

This is a soft admission, coupled with continuing to blame others. People like this never admit to the fullness of their terrible deeds, so it's very likely that it got verbally abusive on his part, some threats. It's possible it came to blows. Judging from the things he says she's done since (returning gifts, sending him all his childhood memorabilia, refusing to do things mothers do), it seems like he also said he wished she wasn't his mother.

It does look like she's following the playbook for escaping narcissistic abuse. Full no-contact, get rid of everything they ever gave you, stop acknowledging their existence. And damn, that takes a lot of spine, because it hurts when it's your own child.

HMM makes you wonder why

Let's all be honest, these are the kinds of shitheels that were bound to throw the people that birthed and raised them to the wolves for some kind of petty, bullshit reason whether Trump ever existed or not. The fact that they're willing to disown their own kin over a guy that neither knows they exist nor will they most likely ever be within 50 feet of is a testament of what shit children they are more than anything else

ACA was designed to fail. It was designed to make private insurance suck, and cause as much pain as possible. Then when people get tired of it, they beg the government for a public solution.

I can’t think of a one-paragraph fix for health insurance, but the next best thing is getting rid of ACA ASAP.

I know it sounds crazy, but I think the world's gone crazy for the past century, so to Hell with it. As soon as people explained the idea of Cloward-Piven strategy to me (overload systems by design to cause failure to replace them with what you really want), I realized Obamacare is a failure out of malice and scheming, not incompetence. Cloward-Piven Care was designed to cost the maximum and provide the minimum, give private insurers their last big time at the trough, before going towards mandatory and exclusive government healthcare. Its a failure because its supposed to be one. They made the crisis, and the solution will be mandatory and exclusive federal healthcare. "Never let a crisis go to waste" and "Cause the problem so you can provide your solution."

You can tell exclusivity is part of the ultimate goal because the "real progressives" go bananas when people say that buying into Medicare or Medicare for all or paid public option is bad when it allows for employer provided health care and private health insurance and health care plans. That's part of the purity test, to say that there should no longer be any private insurance. Some people openly say it, some people lie about it. "If you like your private option, you can keep your private option" is part 2 of the lie that started with, "If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor, if you like your plan, you can keep your plan."

So when the left tried "vote for our person or you're a fucking bigot", one couldn't be shocked about all the "bigots" that decided, "Well, fuck it, I'm already there so I might as well look out for my own interests.
"Meanwhile, as a delightful by-product, the few (fewer every day) who will not be made Normal and Regular and Like Folks and Integrated, increasingly tend to become in reality the prigs and cranks which the rabble would in any case have believed them to be. For suspicion often creates what it suspects: " Since, what-ever I do, the neighbors are going to think me a witch, or a Communist agent, I might as well be hanged for a sheep as a lamb and become one in rea!ity. ,. As a result we now have an intelligentsia which, though very small, is very useful to the cause of Hell."

Yep, the labeling of everybody wicked, with short hand for this being "Nazi" and "fascist" for the past 80 years has people saying they are Nazis and fascists and becoming them. "Oh, if they a priori call me evil, what's the point in pretending to be good? The people they seem to hate the most are people who go out of their way to call themselves their allies! They'll call me wicked no matter what I do, so why not be wicked?"

"They're gonna call you a Nazi, anyhow, so why not...." etc, etc,

I figure its going the same way with communist, too. So now we have record levels of self-identified socialists, communists and fascists in America and young people shitting on capitalism and the system. If you're right wing, you're gonna get called a nazi, if you're left wing, you're gonna get called a communist, might as well be a goat instead of a sheep.

Borat director Larry Charles took to Twitter Monday and compared Trump supporters — or as he described them, “Maga people” — to the violent, pro-China “triad” mob who attackedpeaceful pro-democracy protesters Sunday night and essentially encouraged far-left agitators to arm themselves for “war.”
“After reading about armed #Triad thugs attacking pro-democracy protestors In #HongKong and the white supremacists/Proud Boys/Maga people embracing violence here I’m glad to see the left arming itself. This is war,” the longtime Curb Your Enthusiasm producer declared.

Charles, a prolific producer, writer, and director, linked to a Guardian article that detailed the desires of left-wing groups, like Antifa, to take up arms in order to protect events from “other malicious and potentially armed groups.”

The far-left has largely refused to condemn the violent actions of its extremist groups like Antifa. “Squad” member Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) failed to condemn the self-described Antifa member who attempted to firebomb a federal detention facility in Tacoma, Washington, earlier this month.

The Seattle Antifascist Action took it a step further and actively praised the attacker, calling him a “martyr” in a Facebook post last week.

It read:

When our good friend and comrade Willem Van Spronsen took a stand against the fascist detention center in Tacoma, he became a martyr who gave his life to the struggle against fascism. He was kind and deeply loved by many communities; we cannot let his death go unanswered. Throughout history we idolize figures like John Brown for their courage to take the ultimate stand against oppression, and today we stand strong in our support for yet another martyr in the struggle against fascism. May his death serve as a call to protest and direct action.

Last month, violent leftist protesters in Portland, Oregon, viciously attacked journalist and editor of Quilette, Andy Ngo. Ngo was hospitalized with a brain bleed. Pictures showed cuts and bruises to his face, as well as a torn earlobe.

Update to @MrAndyNgo supporters — he is being admitted to the hospital overnight as a result of a brain bleed. You sick “journalists” and other hacks gloating about this should be ashamed. As for the rest, please pray for @MrAndyNgo who we need back in health — brave man!

Only three arrests were made that night.

Had a recent conversation with a liberal that might be coming to her senses. She couldn't understand "why Trump happened".

For over 8 years, literally everything was a form of bigotry.

Republicans are racist. Christians are homophobes. Gun owners are bigots. Military veterans are white supremacists. The Gadsden flag is racist. The American flag is racist. If you're white, you're racist. If you're white and trying not to be racist, you're still a racist. No matter what, you're a fucking bigot.

So when the left tried "vote for our person or you're a fucking bigot", one couldn't be shocked about all the "bigots" that decided, "Well, fuck it, I'm already there so I might as well look out for my own interests.
She's better than most.

A few months ago I followed a link to the failing New York Times. They had their paywall down for a weekend as a promotion to attract new subscribers. They had a column about why more than ever journalism was so important and begging people to help support their work by taking out a subscription.

One of the user comments made me almost literally facepalm. The commenter basically said, 'I was so shocked when Trump was elected and did not see it coming at all. I wondered how could I have missed what was going on to make over 60 million people vote for him. So to become more informed about what was going on in America, I subscribed to NYT immediately after the election and have subscribed ever since.'

I thought to myself, wait a second, you were so blindsided by Trump's election that you subscribed to a newspaper that was blindsided by Trump's election? You're really going to inform yourself by listening to the same people who said he had a 95% chance of losing?

Hopeless. That person is hopeless.

NOT LARRY TOO!

This is the dude that tried to "combat" supposed right-wing homophobia by flinging an offensive gay stereotype in a bunch of supposed right-wingers faces and consistently got more and more offensive and aggressive whenever they didn't give him the hateful reaction he wanted. You're surprised that he has extreme TDS?

Perhaps he was subconsciously looking not for the source that would inform him, but for one that would reinforce his expectations and repeatedly tell him there's no way Trump is getting re-elected. I mean, if you wanted informative coverage, you wouldn't be limiting yourself to a single outlet anyway.

I find it fascinating that people do that with politics and the news but very little else in their lives.

If you were blind, would you want another blind person to lead you across a busy street? No.

If you were obese, would you want another obese person to give you nutrition advice? No.

If you couldn't drive, would you want another person who couldn't drive to teach you? No.

If you were shocked by Trump's election, would you want another person who was shocked by Trump's election to inform you about politics? Apparently so.

"I called my mother a bigot and abusive online, and encouraged a bunch of people who act like me to call her a Nazi. Surely this will repair my relationship with her."

The people reassuring the writer that his mother and Trump are really the ones at fault and that he's a good son and did the right thing? Those are called "flying monkeys". Unsurprisingly, narcissists of a similar bent will often be flying monkeys for one another, and seek out each other's "support" when the victim doesn't provide compliance or supply.

This article was not written to issue a public apology to his mother, warn people not to be assholes and rage out at their families in these trying times, or even rail at Trump. It was written to get the flying monkeys to swarm. It was written to get that sweet, sweet validation that he was always in the right.

And there's nothing in the political atmosphere at this point to check this kind of behavior...

If you were obese, would you want another obese person to give you nutrition advice? No.

Double-posting, but may I direct you to the Fat Acceptance Movement thread?

You know this reminds me of how Don Rickles and Andy Griffith (Two very funny guys and two big Democrat supporters) didn't lose their heads when Reagan was elected back in the eighties (In fact Rickles performed at Reagan's inauguration ceremony and considered it the highlight of his career). It's quite scary that almost four decades later most of these people think we should stage a coup instead of going "Ree-gan or Raygun. Oh who cares."

Edited because I forgot this isn't 2000
