I'm trying to figure out if fathering a child with a severely autistic woman who happens to be unbelievably attractive is more depressing (or plausible) than having a sex doll compensate for your wife who you just fathered a child with. I thought the video was meh but the lyrics were clever enough. The concept itself was just dumb. I'm all for men stepping outside of gender stereotypes, showing their true feelings, all that good shit, but if you're a YouTube or tumblr personality why don't you just... ya know... be that. Writing a song about it just comes off as self-absorbed and preachy.

I'd say it's a combination of latent lolcow tendencies (a poor understanding of cause and effect; a naive devotion to the idea that you can force the internet to behave according to your whims if you just yell and stamp your feet loud enough) and some very heavy-handed guerrilla marketing tactics intended to promote his "brand". He probably likes the attention he's getting and is banking on it paying dividends in terms of increased channel views/subscribers but at the same time is hurt and offended that people don't recognize him as the nerd sex god that he knows he is.

It's a complete misrepresentation of that (already flawed) model of personalities which is misapplying a categorization of non-sapient animals to humans.

Unless you're literally the top dog in the entire community, like being President (of the country or corporation), you are not an alpha. The alpha is a unique position in a community. Only room for one.

A beta would actually be someone like a general or vice president. Or someone somewhere in the chain of succession. Betas are expected to step in if something happens to the alpha. So in other words, a beta is an alpha-in-waiting.

Only the omega fits the description of the "beta" as used by /pol/lacks and similar idiots. Most of whom are omegas themselves. Mega-omegas whose idea of being "alpha" is acting like a monumental sperg, very loudly.
