I want to see a sequel with Vic in it

I want to see a sequel. Assuming it gets a competent writer, that movie set up an interesting universe that could definitely handle one or two sequels. That, and a cast that would have been mildly interesting to watch 'return to their roles', like Pevensie children going back to Narnia.

Some of them have known him for 2 decades, they knew what cutting him off from his fans and from voice acting was going to do to him. Once they'd gotten him fired from FUNimation they could've stopped, instead they kept going and kept marching his corpse out into the town square to flog it some more.

I think they started planning this the second they figured out they weren't doing auditions for the role of Broly and saw the script and realised Broly wasn't dying this time around...which meant Vic might get to reprise the role for whatever follows on from Super. If I was a betting man I'd place money on Sabat licking his chops at the thought of scooping up the Broly role when the movie was announced, people even asked him on twitter whether or not he was going to be going for the role and Sabat at to tell them that the role was already cast...but I don't think he mentioned once who had been picked for the role.

Broly had a bit of a buzz of people fussing over whether Vic would be Broly, including people wanting Sabat to voice him. I think it's pretty obvious that either Sabat wanted Broly or he wanted the opportunity to squeeze in a TFS member as Broly under the excuse of it being a new character in a one-off movie (knowing he'd probably stay on after that).

I think it's really obvious they wanted to destroy Vic not just with his career but as a person. They had all the connections they needed to quietly fire him and then let the dummies like Marzgurl and Hanleia take the heat by charging with kickvic as he got fired and booted from cons (everyone would assume that Funi et al did it because of the hashtag and get angry at those people, but it would ultimately become a case of "I guess the woke crowd destroyed something again" and the VAs would still smell like daisies.) - In fact, the VAs could give very weak, neutral statements like 'oh, well I believe survivors even though I never saw anything myself' and Monica could even privately respond to his email in a positive way.

Vic would be #stillfired and any convention Funimation had sway over still wouldn't touch him, but all people would see is that those rumors eventually caught up to him and ruined him (whether they believed the rumors or not) and Vic would struggle to be able to sue anyone. Unfortunately for them, that wouldn't ruin Vic. His fans would still love him, and he'd appear as a martyr to woke culture, instead of a monstrous predator. This is problematic for two reasons:

1- laying low and returning might actually have worked without the 'credible' people coming forward and calling him a predator, making him a problem again in their future
2- if people like Monica continued to pretend to be his friend, they'd have to deal with him in the future looking to them for sympathy or opportunity/help, and being 'a pest'.

Thus, they attacked. That said, as optimistic as some people are, I don't think it's an accident that he became depressed and possibly suicidal. Even if you wanted to break off your fake friendship with him and ruin him by dropping stories of him attacking VAs, there's no need to keep going. Jamie kept on hammering at him in a blind rage, calling for his death and dismemberment, Monica and Ron kept jumping on anyone who questioned them and aggressively calling Vic a horrible predator, and AWL literally insisted he was a pedophile rapist. And Michelle sent him that horrifyingly cruel email.

There is no other conclusion except to determine that these people wanted Vic absolutely ground into the dirt and then dead so that there could be no chance of him ever speaking to them again, ever coming back, or them ever having to see him except in sad little memorials where they'd pretend to cry and then divvy up his roles between each other.

Something to note is that there is a distinct difference between First Trailer Broly and Actual Movie Broly. They sound nothing alike.

Could be completely wrong though. Just something I've always noticed when rewatching. Whatever the case, it definitely isn't Sabat.

I know the answer to why that happened - the first Broly trailer (dubbed) dropped with so little notice that there was no feasible way to get Vic in to voice the lines in time. Someone else, I think maybe Sabat, did them instead. There was a buzz on twitter for a while about it where people questioned whether it meant Vic was recast, and people said Vic knew of and was fine with the trailer having a different Broly voice under the circumstances.

In other news Daman Mills wears enough lipstick to look like a drag queen. Chick next to him is youtuber/VA Amanda Lee (no relation to Amanda Winn Lee). I watch her Twitch sometimes but I noped right out.

I know @jellycar likes to critique the gays, so here you go.

Amanda Lee is the girl who's semi-famous on youtube for translating anime songs. She got herself into trouble by dropping some kickvic statements on twitter and then immediately releasing her cover of the Shield Hero OP (in a duet with Nathan Sharp, who apparently got caught making false rape accusations a year or so ago). Interesting she's bumping elbows with Daman. Though I suppose he's around TFS level of 'legitimate anime VA', so that's not unreasonable,

Easy, you say you are the voice of a character, the quickest and most clear way to do so.

I recall reading on twitter all those FF7 Remake dub voices that only just were allowed to announce their role despite having it for years. NDAs are tough like that.

Ty has to make this case to a normie. there will be no damage for Vic, the whole woke anime bubble is about to bust.

you dont need VAs. you can watch subs or just get some european dub with subs if you dont like the shitty Japanese VAs.
Europe has alot of high quality dubs, since dubbing is a giant business in europe. every movie has to be dubbed and the VAs are professionals.

Really? I never bothered to go looking at European dubs because they have a reputation of being even more hilariously bad than 90s American dubs (German Naruto), but maybe I'll take a look at some of those. Competent English dubs without the divas from Funimation doesn't sound so bad.

Guess I know what game Im setting to turn off updates on. Guy can be scummy that's his own cross to bear, but he's got a good voice, quick redubs typically suck.

I like his voice. I don't really care about the details of his personal life. I don't know why twitter insists on caring so much about the artist over the art. However, games like Fire Emblem Heroes will just stop working if you don't do their updates. If that's what you mean.

Reactions: Harvey Danger
I have said here and elsewhere on many occasions that people have to stop making excuses and reopen mental institutions. It's not some edgelord comment, it's long overdue. WTF are we supposed to do as a civilization with people like this? It's pretty obvious that we can't continue with the current number of these sociopaths, much less the hundreds of thousands more the schools turn out and the media reinforce globally every year.

Nice as it may sound, the "Start up the Rotors" approach isn't gonna be adopted by most places. At least not until a total civilization collapse is underway.
Trust me, many people agree with you.

Some people have no mental faculty to have any awareness of what they're doing. They may be dangerously violent and they just don't know or give a shit. But if they have the right mental defect, they are allowed in society where they are a danger to themselves and others. Trying to integrate them will not work. Having them in a safe facility would be best for them and everyone else, including caretakers.

Sentai has some pretty decent dubbing, as does Crunchyroll and Netflix (which seem to be using more LA talent but have a few Texas VAs here and there).

The trailer was made to be played on stereo systems.

The full fight scene seems like it was possibly a 5.1 surround ripped into stereo or is otherwise poorly mastered. The bass is exceptionally loud while the rest of the sound is really oddly compressed.

It could also be my speakers dying. I wouldn't discount that. But the fight being poorly ripped is my guess.

Good seeing you again!
Could you give context to this? What prompted him to go up to them? Did they go after an anime fan directly or were they just generally protesting?

If I recall correctly a few of us were on our way to get food. We exited the hotel to head to a restaurant and these people were protesting right outside. He stopped and spoke to them. They were actively protesting the anime convention.

Thank you!

I found this video from 2009 with Vic being asked to discuss his faith. Notice how he asks the audience if they are ok
with him answering this quesiton, since its kind of 'heavy.' Doesn't seem like someone who is pushy with his faith.

If I had to take a wild guess, it would be Sabat. He has a lot to gain from putting vic into the ground or out the industry and could have easily promised monica and jamie better roles if they played ball. Motivation? Sabat is the big fish in Texas and Vic coming in would be competition for Sabat.

All this talk about Sabat makes him sound like a mob boss. He has connections at Funimation and Rooster Teeth. But he got outmanuevered by Marzgurl who intends to burn Funimation to the ground.

I'm really hoping Judge Chupp is just a live action version of Judge Hiram Mightor from Harvey Birdman.

This whole thing has been like Lionel Hutz visiting Harvey Birdman. Just so much crazy.

This is Monica Rial and Travis Willingham at Anime Weekend Atlanta 2006.

One of the things Vic addressed in his rumors panel was the accusation that he was stumbling around drunk at conventions. He denied it while Monica's drunken escapes, which no one really cares about, are part of convention lore.

At Anime World Chicago 2012, Monica had a panel where she bragged that she can drink people under the table. She gives an account from Anime Detour 2005 where she challenged Travis Willingham. She thought it would be a good idea, but says that it was stupid because he's a much larger man. He kicked her butt and had to carry her to her room.

They both went to Anime Weekend Atlanta 2006 and the staff thought it was so hilarious that they brought them bottles of tequila and shot glasses. She made a deal with him where he had to drink two shots for every one of hers. She recalls doing ten. There are audible gasps of oh my god when she says he did like twenty. They apparently were drinking in front of fans. During an "unflubbed panel" where he was Howard Stern and she was Robin Quivers, someone dared them to drink a bottle of Aquafina that was filled with an unknown yellow liquid. She declined, but said that Travis had so much tequila that he agreed. They both went to a Fullmetal Alchemist party incredibly inebriated. Everyone was in cosplay and she couldn't remember their names so she talked to them as if they were that character. Travis lost his wallet and while they were looking for it something got them laughing and they ended up rolling around on the floor in the hallway.

Vic and Luci Christian saw them doing this and "became like the mommy and daddy and like watch us". They went everywhere looking for Travis' wallet. She got a text in the middle of the night that it was in his back pocket.

She said that this incident has gone down in convention lore and that she and Travis get asked about it a lot. "When I'm 60 I'll be able to show my grandkids like, remember when mom was cool and grandma was cool and she used to drink tequila, here watch 48 videos about it."

Even if you do not share his faith, it is good to see something so personal to him being explained. Our beliefs, mindset, ideals, etc do make us who we are as people, and perhaps that is what they wanted to understand about vic. I speak to people irl and online that have differing beliefs and ideals if I am going to be around them more often, but it is to understand who they are as a person.

edit: a person is not just their faith, their ideals, their mindset, their fears, but the sum of it all can help determine something about them and to understand why they are somewhat like they are.

A far cry from a mob boss for sure, but I was leaning more on his influence within the industry itself. Also I hope she does succeed.
