If they're going to compare a political party of past and present dictatorships then at least get the ideology part right.
Whenever I see these, I always wonder if there are internet commies out there who get really mad at the comparisons. The USSR imagery for modern Russia, even if you buy into the meddling narrative, is really out of place too but that's been talked to death.
They're not aiming at people who read their history.
They just need to feel important. Hating on Orange Man gives them a feeling like they are making a difference. Considering that Twitter is a mostly liberal echo chamber, doing this is like screaming into a void. The people they should be trying to get on their side probably don’t even use Twitter that often or at all. Even then, Twitter isn’t even a good social media site to have debates because of the character limit. The best way to use Twitter is to get your point across in the fewest words possible. I know a lot of Twitter spergs don’t like Trump, but they could benefit from using Twitter the way he does. They would get their points across better and sound less exceptional doing it. An added bonus would be a sense of humor that doesn’t rely on being “woke”. Trump has probably 40 to 50 years on some of these spergs, yet he’s more effective with Twitter than they are.

You see, EVERY state must have strict gun control for it to work, otherwise crooks just buy their guns in Texas and drive over to CA. The loony left requires it at the federal level because their policies can only work if everywhere is equally restrictive (or equally overtaxed, &c.) . If they were smart along this line of thinking they'd advocate an international crackdown on tax havens, but I haven't seen it.
It's so hard to be a law abiding criminal these days.
