Why does every single thing have to link up to Trump or Nazi's?
You forgot "fascists."
It's because the Radical Left has spent a significant amount of time being taught that they're the smart ones, they're the woke ones, they're the ones with wisdom and insight on cultural issues. I was in the bubble before GamerGate, and I can assure you, there's not single person on Huffington Post or DailyKOS or Little Green Footballs who thinks they or anyone in their tribe could ever be racist, sexist, or
even have a bias, a statement that should cause a double-take because
everyone has biases. (And hell, these are the moderate leftists. The insanity grows geometrically as you go further left.) Indeed, they identify as "anti-racist" which means they can't BE racist -- and to oppose them is to BE racist. Oh, and they want to bring back segregation, but don't worry -- this time woke upper middle class white Democrat ladies will decide who gets the good drinking fountains. (...Wait.)
All this is due to a combination of the Conservatives in the 60s and 80s getting their asses kicked in their culture wars and thus never pushing back against the left, radical marxists in academia pushing shit like the self esteem movement in some sort of broken desire to shelter children, and the media -- including social media -- being targeted by entryism by the left since the 70s cutting out all non-left voices.
There's been a growing bubble on the left for decades, and it's starting to reach a critical mass.
The result is you have a segment of the population who have an incredibly over-inflated sense of self importance to the point of near self-worship, who have been raised to believe they can do no wrong and are somehow special, and who have never had their beliefs or opinions questioned, yet alone challenged.
Add these people to an academic industry that is no longer about preparing people to do a specific job yet alone to prepare well rounded and intelligent adults and rather is designed to either fleece people of government guaranteed student loans (setting up an entire generation of wage slaves with useless degrees in the process) or in the case of the various humanities is designed to indoctrinate students into extreme radical leftist domga -- identity marxism, for example, and you get a bunch of completely oblivious radicals who think everyone agrees with them except some sort of cartoonish supervillain straight out of a Woke Gender Studies version of Captain Planet.
Since they don't actually have any deeper understanding of gender, race, sexuality, et cetera -- because they have never been challenged on any of these topics, ergo they have never actually thought about them gained wisdom, or hardened their belief systems -- they ultimately don't comprehend them.
And when you have a group of left leaning Peggy Hill types who have a tenuous grasp of reality
at best, who were taught to worship social activists of yesteryear, who also believe they are the heroes of not only their own stories but the hero of everyone else's stories -- they have the trophies to prove it! -- then words like "racist" or "fascist" or "nazi" mean nothing more than "bad man." Worse, on some level they know this, but they also know calling them the magic bad words causes their opponents social harm. (It also signifies to other leftists that the person is either not-a-leftist or guilty of wrongthink and should be ostracized.)
As for Trump... that's easy. His winning was a reminder that reality has a well known Conservative bias. The right understands the left but disagrees with them. The left doesn't have a fucking clue what the right thinks. So when the vast majority of the country disagreed and outright rejected their chosen queen, it was a shot out of the dark. It was sand in their hugbox. It was cognitive dissonance, and as you saw, it drove them absolutely bugfuck nuts. (It doesn't help that they were prepped to react this way by media via the Russiagate and Trump-as-Hitler hoaxes.)
tldr: Because the radical left is stupid, don't care what Nazi or Fascist means, just know it means "badguy, not of our tribe" and causes social damage to their enemies.
