But calling Trump supporters and ice officials Nazis makes everyone safer, right? Running stories about how antifa has to arm up because the Nazis have guns makes everyone safer too?

Choke on a dick. I'm so glad the repubs stopped giving credence to this shit, instead of falling over themselves to apologise for their made up offense.

Just a friendly reminder (in case no one has posted this in awhile) that this happened : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zHflFFKoaNM

So it's ok for a black guy to want to cut another black guy's balls off even if he's the President (and the other person is a reverend), but it's not ok for a pompous orange guy to bad mouth Don Lemon, Maxine Waters, Elijah Cummings, Al Sharpton, and so forth?

Wait...

Is that cockgoblin trying to claim that the Glorious Communist Democracy of Russia invented... Salisbury steak? In the 1930s?

Because, uh... I've got some news for them. People have been mooshing together meat with filler and cooking it since time immemorial. Just in the western world we can trace it back to at least 4th century Rome; the Apicius manuscript gives a recipe for isicia omentata thusly:

Isicia omentata: pulpam concisam teres cum medulla siliginei in vino infusi. piper, liquamen, si velis, et bacam myrtam extenteratam simul conteres. pusilla isicia formabis, intus nucleis et pipere positis. involuta omento subassabis cum caroeno.

Or, roughly translated, "Mix minced pork, wheat, and fish sauce with chopped pine nuts, myrtle berries, and pepper. Shape. Fry in fat. Serve with wine sauce."

China probably can go back even further, but I don't care to do the research; I'm already familiar with Apicius.

Robert you're polling at 0% amongst Democrats and you couldn't even take Texas away from the Butter Man, just stop.

Poltitico misquoting.
What Robert meant was "We can take the town of Texas, California from Trump. It has a population of 10, so just have to bus 20 illegals in to flip it blue for good."

They actually did attack him for the fact that he doesn’t drink alcohol period. He had a relative die of alcohol poisoning so now he never drinks. That’s why they never accuse him of drunk tweets.
He donates some of his money to an alcoholism research group which is pretty cool. Doesn't stop Reddit from not giving him a modicum of respect or "Hey, I don't like him but that's pretty neat" comments.

On Something Awful, there was a Canadian goon with CF (James "Turpitude" Reimer) who did a few AMA threads on his double-lung transplants, record time spent on life support, etc. Really cool guy.

Trump donated I think $20k of his personal money to James and his wife (and similar amounts to others) at an event, and a bunch of goons were giving him shit, trying to get him to say that Orange Man Bad, and that he didn't donate enough.

To his credit he basically told them to fuck off, he was grateful because Trump didn't have to donate at all, and that as a Canadian he has no interest in US politics. That was in 2015 I think. Pretty sure he's still alive and doing fine, and hopefully left SA.

Patriot act was very bipartisan. Neocons and Democrats very much agree on extending government authority.

It was less bipartisan and more Democrats being terrified of the GOP using 911 and the threat of another 911 against them until the end of time.

Remember, the Patriot Act had all but officially been written up prior to 911 and was just waiting for the right moment to be forced upon the nation. And the Democrats were already under fire for not successfully killing Bin Ladin in the last years of the Clinton Presidency.

It's also why the Democrats won't ever get rid of the Patriot Act, as they fear that they will be blamed and punished, if they get rid of the Patriot Act and another 9-11 happens after they get rid of it.

Now that has got to be one of the dumbest things that I've ever heard of. Really, who gives a shit if the Soviets at one point did had their own version of burgers at the time? Donald Trump liking burgers doesn't automatically make him a Russian asset you morons.

This is something I'd expect to see from The Onion because this would have made much more sense if it was all satire but this isn't from The Onion and this really stupid article came from a major news outlet so that makes me both disappointed and sad that such stupid shit can even be published for people to read and shit.

It's actually pretty bad advice (and central to Trump's strategy) because the rural voters can just look at Democrat areas (Baltimore, Chicago, etc) and see how great Democrats take care of their constituents. The focus on taking the senate for a "Democratic president's agenda" is wildly optimistic as the Democrats don't really even have a clear message, agenda, or candidate.

They strategy they should be running would be "let's try and do a good job and bring value to people" but they seem utterly incapable of doing that on a most basic level. They've had decades to try and improve and all Trump has to do (and is doing) is putting a spotlight on some of these areas. Baltimore is the most hilarious (the Mayor has fled the city) but it's really hard to think of once place that's voted blue for 20+ years and is actually better for it. There are tons of disenfranchised people in these areas that maybe like where they live but don't like living in a hell hole.

There are places in Mexico/Brazil that have constant gang warfare that are still safer to live in than Baltimore/St.Louis.

The Democrats, in general, want the Senate because of the Supreme Court. RBG is on death's door and if not already dead and the Democrats have to replace her ASAP if she's the later and most likely have a deal in place now with her, that replacing her will be the VERY FIRST THING a Democrat President does if they win 2020 due to her wanting out so she can enjoy what little time she has left to enjoy life.

Not to mention that the Democrats have several other left wing judges on the court just as old if not older. Justices they DESPERATELY need to tag out and replace with young blood.

Also, the President will be under major pressure to undo Trump's agenda from day one and that's pretty much impossible without the Senate since any executive orders will be taken to court if the next President starts ruling by decree.

It will be fun to see if the Democrats truly break the Senate irrevocably by converting it to a pure "majority rules" wing of the government the second they take control again in 2020. Though it would also be the height of hilarity if they win the Senate but lose the House and don't get the Presidency and end up back to square one.

The Washington Post is the same paper which printed a story about how the Russians tried to hack the Eastern power grid - then they dutifully reported there was no Russian gov't involvement according to people close to the investigation

WaPo correspondents have breathlessly reported all sorts of dubious clickbait tales of Russian interference to the point where the Resistance Russia obsessives could be sold recycled 60s era commie conspiracies and totally buy it, like updated versions of claims by John Birch Society people that Soviet officers were training 100,000 peacekeeping troops, including 24,000 African soldiers -- many of who were also cannibals -- in the Georgia swamps, readying for a UN takeover of the US.

These morons are just as gullible as Qanon boosters, only their delusions are supported by the "mainstream" journalism establishment. Jonathon Chait openly speculating Trump could be a long-term Russian asset in the pages of a New York newsmagazine, MSNBC devoting hours on hours of interviews with ex-CIA and ex-NSA people and academics who work for think-tanks funded by defense contractors regaling the audiences with spooky tales of Russian meddling, etc.

For what it's worth, he was alive as of May this year, he's got a 3 year old daughter now.

Sadly, as optimistic as everyone is, the odds say she'll probably never really know her father, but... shrug, Life is a bitch sometimes.
