I'm pretty sure Judge Chupp is actually pissed. I think if Volney had offered something like that proposal originally he would have gone for it but, possibly because of LemWAAAAAAH pitching a bitch fit in his inbox, just decided to give him even more time than he asked for.

I also suspect that he was secretly relieved someone moved to extend the date, and not at all inclined to be receptive to some asshole opposing that for no sane reason, apparently just to be a complete prick.

Dumb lawyers seem to forget this all the time, but when you dump a giant pile of bullshit on the other side to make their lives a living hell, you also dump it on the court, and on the judge who decides the case, and make his life a living hell too.

Also judges have no patience for lawyers trying to get a more favorable timing by not "being available" for the date the judge wants. Not available for the date? We'll either do it with substitute council, or at a time more favorable to opposing council. Stop playing games, fuckwit.

The defendants winning on TCPA has always been a possibility in this case. Thankfully, Chupp granted Ty the extension in this morning's phone conference, so it's not looking bleak just yet.
But, even if the defendants did win on their TCPA, it's important to remember that that doesn't mean the defendants were telling the truth, it only means that their speech is protected under the 1st amendment. As much of I believe the case being dismissed would be bullshit, I still believe Vic will still be able to have a career after this. There are people outside of funimation and the shit-tier cons willing to work with Vic, after all. Not to mention, the defendants will forever be known as false accusers and that dark cloud over their heads won't disappear anytime soon.

It's amazing how these people come up with all these excuses for why it's Vic's fault they set out to ruin his life on social media. Just like they claim it's Vic's fault they decided to interpret his interactions with the defendants and fans as being something predatory several years down the line.
As far as I'm concerned, the backlash Vic's accusers have received due to their own actions is well deserved. Nothing short of constant reminders they're liars that used sexual assault as a weapon, while disregarding the damage it does to actual victims, will do.

To be fair, it doesn't mean he didn't rape anyone. This is a case about defamation against him. However, if they have a problem with that they can take it up with the proper authorities instead of the law firms of twitt & er

In reality the Judge only has to read the first page or two. If you fail to get his attention there, he's just gonna skim through the rest and rule against it for wasting his time.

I mean, even a criminal court case doesn't in and of itself exonerate someone from an allegation of crime. Just because they didn't murder one guy doesn't mean that they didn't murder another guy nobody knows about at that time.

Should he win, it definitely does mean that the people that accused him of sexual assault were lying, by preponderance of the evidence, though.

Vic was a dick that proves he was a sexual predator.

Until someone actually nuts up and files a criminal case against him for sexual assault, I am not even going to entertain a thought that he raped anyone.

Sorry, not sorry. They had 3 full months of peak sperg to come out with a lawsuit or credible witnesses, uncontested before Vic dropped his lawsuit on them.

Well before anyone was "scared to come forward when they literally saw him being MeToo'd.

I don't believe any hint that he could have raped anyone at this point

Most certainly. All you have to do is look at their reactions to the kavenaugh, Oberlin, and Geoffrey Rush case.
Not only was it patently obvious to anyone with half a brain that they were in the right, but the Courts ruled in their favor.
And yet you still have these people ignoring reality and screening rapist, racist, and old creep.
