I can't remember if I've mentioned my roommate before, but he's a psychiatric nurse technician (orderly is no longer PC, apparently). He works at a specific kind of ward. It's not the usual "nicked his wrist for attention" shit. These are adult, violent patients. Now, when he started the job, he was the same way, all swagger and confidence. Then, one day, one of the low-func patients had a freakout and fractured his orbital. It took 4 techs to take the patient down.
The mistake my roomie made? He assumed he could handle crazy. The patient had been a lamb for 2 months, so he dropped his guard.
