Side Story, i was watching DarkDaves restream on YouTube yesterday and had to run to the store real quick so i just had it running in the background as i drove. Got to Walmart, paused the video and click my phone screen off and went in. Did some shopping, just needed one item and i shit you not folks, as im in self checkout, my butt must of clicked unpaused, all of a sudden, Phils horrible music starts playing and everyone starts looking at me like im Autistic

Has Phil ever played a strategy game? I imagine that shit would be painful to watch. I know he played Disgaea before.

Curious that Phil is fine estimating Ninja's income when he claims nobody can accurately estimate his own income. Why are THOSE estimates correct, Phil.

Phil's entire rant was also predicated on it being impossible that Ninja would be willing to take a pay cut for more freedom. He probably did get paid by Mixer, don't get me wrong, but Phil assumes that people would pursue only money in any given circumstance. Pretty telling that Mr.Honest and Mr.Not-PC who is in it for the love of the game believes that people only do things for money. The whole rant was seething not only with jealousy, but pretty telling of Phil's own priorities, which, as usual, are completely the opposite of everything he claims.

He's also playing classic SF instead of MLB tomorrow night. Interesting that this came up a day after the announcement that Honda is joining SFV... it's like he is thinking about it. Are you out there, Tut?

He also claimed he is trying to build speculation and hype for the announcement on Sunday, and said the chat speculating as being 'exactly what he wanted'. Remember this in 10 minutes when he yells at someone for asking if Kat is pregnant and being "morons" for speculating.

EDIT: Someone asked if Phil was thinking of playing the new SFV characters and he sarcastically replied "no", and ranted about the game being shit. He claims now "I don't care! I know the game stinks! I know the reason most people play it is because it is the only Capcom game with only popularity right now!" 24 hours ago he said he would consider trying Honda. His memory is completely shot.

EDIT 2: Someone pointed out Ninja said he only wanted to make enough to take care of his family and then he didn't care about money (which is also what Phil has said, mind you). Phil said this is "honourable"... but that Ninja's lying and that isn't his motivation. Again, if roles were reversed, Phil would not tolerate people questioning his motivations like this.

I believe part of Ninja's leaving of Twitch was being fed up with how it's run (by furries and troon mods)

It's kinda funny that Ninja went through all kinds of criticism last year for something that I guess is somewhat similar, though far less warped. Ninja doesn't stream with female gamers/streamers because he knows that if he does, there will be all kinds of rumors and trash talked because of how twitch is and some of that would bleed onto his wife's streams/channel.

Speaking of which, the averate viewers looks high. It has overall been down this year, and in particular this month.

Maybe Twitchtracker's not as accurate--I just took the average number of viewers for each of his 2 daily streams, averaged them, and used that. I didn't count his days off where he had zero viewers. Maybe Sullygnome does?

Oh, that is kind, but I remember I only replied to JackDavis' post: he is the one who came up with the term. It was on the tip of my tongue at the time -- the real business term for it -- and I happened on it the other day: whether its monthly or annual, total or average, the metric would be revenue per user (or I guess in this case, viewer.)

Not quite... at least not yet. I think he is looking for justification to not play Fire Emblem because his excuse of it 'being niche' is objectively incorrect at this point. So instead he said it was only the trolls who were pushing him to play it in order to bait him into mandatory weeb dating shit. Cress risked a ban to tell him it wasn't mandatory and to stop talking out of his ass, which is likely why Phil then dropped the topic.

I think this is arguably worse because he seems to think that try to get him to do a dating sim is comparable with trying to get him to say something racist, which is just wildly delusional. And he's also now trying to use it as a way to make himself appear the victim, apparently ignoring that this new belief is as bizarre as some fringe religious dogma. But it sounds like he might be avoiding any game that he hears has mandatory dating elements in it, otherwise he'll play the game and just do none of the dating stuff.

I think we all agree that the no-waifu-content rule DSP pulled out of his ass all of a sudden is mind-bogglingly dumb and extremely childish, but I'm willing to take it a step further and say that, from a professional point of view, he's actually fucking over his audience, thus fucking over himself (as usual).

He says he doesn't "need it (anymore)", which would mean that if he did decide to dive into waifu content, it wouldn't affect him. He's a grown man and happily married after all, right? Well, then what exactly is the reason for denying your viewers content intended by game developers to be consumed and experienced? And with viewers I mean the people who throw money at him so he can keep paying his 2nd mortgage and play through content created by said developers. It's part of the game, it's in there for a reason. You're hurting the experience people are paying you for, even if that experience is as shallow as "lolol, look at the bouncy bewbs!" You can at least have a laugh about it and be done with it, and no one would think anything of it.

But what he's doing now, is basically giving (random) viewers an excuse to possibly stop contributing. I mean, he's in no position whatsoever to actively ignore segments of a game people might be looking forward to seeing him play. If he'd still be making the big bucks on Youtube, sure, why the hell not? But the the Mister Twitch DSP from 2019? No way.

I think what he's doing in this regard is so dumb from both a general/social and professional point of view, that I'm having issues with finding words to correctly explain how I feel about this, but I hope it made sense anyway.
