Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

I think we might need a thread in the weeb wars, for who was casting who for roles in funimation projects. And who's studios they were performed in. I bet there will be patterns to be found...

Yes, he moved back to Texas in December of 2018 or early January 2019.
Nick Rekieta stated the sad reason why is that Vic "wanted to work closer to his friends."
He may have finished packing shortly after the December Broly premier.
I think he specifies when he moved in his depo, but my PDF reader isn't allowing me to search in it so I can't find it right now.

Allow me to speculate on a more likely reason for the move than "to be near his friends;" his break-up with Sprect. Maybe she preferred to live in the pricey LA area, and now that he was untied form her, he chose to live in the more affordable DFW area.

Just a guess based on what I remember of the timeline, though.

Oh but she does, my friend.

This isn't the first time a NPC voices a character that conflicts with their NPC values, Monica Rial is far more infamous for this when you count three particular roles of hers.

Momoka from the Ghost Stories at School Dub, Stocking Anarchy from the titular Panty and Stocking (Co-lead with Blamey Harpy, and Sabat as Garterbelt), and most infamously Anna in Shimoneta.

Guess who does the English version of Koyoko? In an anime that makes light of what appears at first to be full blown rape.

You were surprised? With that hair?

Also, a blast from the past:

This one is for you guys:

I checked out when Karbowski said "nerd paradise"-- the inherent contempt they had for their fanbase (and consumerbase, mind you) was inherent in that condescension. They aren't a part of the "nerd paradise" they tried appealing to-- it turned the entire thing into a "how do you do, fellow kids".

Rial was the same way in her depo, when she mentioned out of freaking nowhere voicing "best girls" with someone she could bet knew close to nothing about anime and wouldn't know what the hell that meant.
Glad I didn't put money in this.

Gonna mention this here for anyone that may get a few chuckles our of it if you Google J Sean Lemoine you get this as the second result.

Editing to clarify this is Nick stream which is titled
J Sean Lemoine Misrepresents Facts to the Court - or Maybe He's Just Dumb
How embarrassing

Wonder how will it affect any possible future clients when the second result in a search for your name says that at best you're an idiot.

Woooooowwwwww.

I absolutely had no knowledge of this role Monica had played in her roles, and yet you would think that as a rape victim (Along with a attempted rape victim) she wouldn't want to do either this role, or her role as Anna without some trauma being triggered.

Well there's a simple answer to that. It's because she's not a fucking victim. She's a liar who pretends to be a victim for attention and sympathy and to be rid of a VA who's infinitely better than her.

Chuck Huber finished recording his lines for Android 17 in Dragon Ball Super:

Very ominous.

Qrow replacement, Jason Liebrecht, also retweets the Dallas News article.

I'm a bit disappointed since a few of these voice actors do great job for some characters in Borderlands.

Edit: His twitter archive

Just like Kevin Landau (of the Landau Group), this guy is getting fucked by search engines for his assholish behavior. Check search results for Casey Erick too, right beneath his Superlawyers profile it brings up some of Nick's videos (the Kiwifarms thread for this lawsuit is on page two) and in "related searches" you see "Ty Beard lawyer" and "Ron Toye". As for Ron Toye, the first results after his Twitter are articles about his deposition and clips from the video. The damage they did to themselves from this case isn't going away for years at minimum even if they get it dismissed with prejudice and get all Vic's money. It's an albatross hanging around their neck for life, dragging them down and denying them business opportunities.

It's a good time to remember that everyone that retweets these snakes may be doing it out of fear for their jobs.

So when Monica et al try to come out and declare that Vic somehow had all of this massive vice-grip control over an entire industry... take a moment.

Take a moment to pause and notice that Monica and Jamie are single-handedly holding the balls of an entire group of voice-actors hostage when they are clearly in the wrong.

But yeah, let's keep up the fable that Vic had all the "power".

Of course he'd do that. He hopes Vic never comes back because he's directly benefited from Vic being removed from RT.
Vic gets #metoo'd. Gets removed from RT and then this shmuck replaces him.
He then champions to defame him and damage his reputation further. Not a coincidence at all. Nope.

Went around looking at VAs that I know, off the top of my head (and haven't already shown up in the thread like Daman Mills or Brittney Karbowski).

Jason Liebrecht, who directly benefited from Vic getting kicked from RWBY by taking over as Qrow, retweeted the article

Interestingly, Ian Sinclair, who also benefited by taking over Vic's role in Morose Mononokean, has said nothing.

Leah Clark, who compared Vic to Weinstein a while back, hasn't mentioned the article.

Josh(ette) Grelle, fellow contract breacher from KamehaCon, has also said nothing.

Nada on Colleen Clinkenbeard.

Nada on Mike McFarland.

Gamergate Creep line writer guy Tyson Rhinehart hasn't said anything, either. He's apparently blocked by Armzgurl, which is amusing

More Texas who haven't said anything related to the article: Aaron Dismuke, Ricco Fajardo, Kristen McGuire, Caitlin Glass, Megan Shipman, Clifford Chappin, Dani Chambers, Jill Harris, Dallas Reid, Austin Tindle, Amanda Lee (Amalee the youtuber, not penguin dancer Amanda Winn Lee), Greg Ayres, Eric Vale, Luci Christian, and David Matranga.

A lot of them are probably literally who? to most of you, but there it is.

Edit: Cougar'd on Jason Liebrecht by the medkit.

"power"... No, Vic has a super power. The super power of not having to suck a dick to get VA rolls at Funi. Alas, His kryptonite. Not sucking dick to keep his job. Hyena Dicks.
