I don’t know why there is so much RT talk today? RT is not a party to the lawsuit and is unlikely to be so. Even if they fired Vic based on Monica’s claims, they probably acted in good faith. They didn’t slam Vic in public, and the separation seemed to come at a contract point. So no wrongful termination claims. If the stories and claims are fake, the fault likely lies with ?Monica.
And it doesn’t really matter. RT probably only has a few months remaining as an independent entity. They will be rolled into Warner Animation, their IP’s handled by WB. And all but a handful of employees will be let go. RT as an independent streaming service will be soon shuttered. It’s a given, their numbers are awful and their price hike sent them into a death spiral. Any IP they have will be shifted to HBO Max any show production will shift to Warner Animation and wherever they prefer to produce. (You think anybody is anxious to get involved with the vipers nest that is the Texas VA community right now?) A few upper end writers/producers may be moved into WA, everybody else goes bye bye. This is a foregone conclusion. AT&T just shuttered Mad Magazine And there are concerns that venerable DC Comics is next. Cartoon Network is fighting for its life. RT is so far down on the fringes with no Executive level Godfather to protect them that they are completely fucked. Right now in the WB game of thrones other execs are maneuvering to add RT’s IP and content to their catalogs, to make themselves seem more viable and important. No part of RT’s value in any way involves its employees, whom nobody wants. They are fucked, double fucked and extra triple fucked. Especially now with their properties tied to a spree shooters social media. They will be taken out back and “Drama Fevered” late one Friday.
