A wall would have kept the Mexicans out of fire at least. No targets, no shooting. I don’t think it’s about the shooter’s place of birth, rather a response to Democrats calling for background checks on guns. Trump wants background checks for guns and immigration. The blue check marks think having background checks on immigration is “racist”, while the same background checks for guns are “common sense”.

I gotta love these deals. He offers the Democrats what they want in a package he know they won't take. They dump their cereal on their head and cry about it, then Trump eventually gets his way and the Democrats continue to get nothing.

I'm guessing its bluff calling. Democrats keep screaming about hate crime hate crime hate crime, Trump is saying "fine, we're executing people again, and we'll make hate crimes eligible for death penalty". Its a gutsy move, but since "the squad" got their dicks slapped, there's no one on the D side of the aisle insane enough to take him up on it.

I think its dumb given how shit like Matthew Sheppard gets built to be a hate crime, but I've doubted Trump moves before and have been surprised at results.
