So I saw on Twitter someone had reposted my message last night and there was bit of an argument as to what it meant re: Federal RCMP. Maybe I'm just not sure how they are structured or maybe the cop talking to Yaniv was bullshitting him to get him off the property BUT to explain what I heard: Langley RCMP have been ordered to stand watch by some higher authority, this whole process is out of Langley RCMP's hands. They have received their orders to stand watch over the front door until some sort of specialist unit or a some sort of higher level of RCMP can come perform the search. Sorry if the lingo I used wasn't right in describing the situation!

The Farms gets attacked pretty regularly from different people. The ESA leak timing is suspicious. I lurked reddit for a bit and the ladies on gencrit mentioned Lipstick Alley being down too for a while, but apparently that's also a common occurance.

My concern with them bringing in a specialized force for the search is that it's likely one to deal with prohibited weapons and not cyber crimes. They would have different training, different search methods, etc.

The warrant concerned a prohibited weapon, with the responding officer noting that “an active file is still ongoing.” An earlier call to the RCMP by Jessica Rumpel, whose story of sexual interference by Yaniv was covered by The Post Millennial, resulted in her commenting that the RCMP had an open “file report” on Yaniv.

I'm rating this optimistic, but if the RCMP has his computer and mobile devices, I'm hoping it's because of this and they're working with the US authorities since a few of the girls he creeped on were American. I still think if he gets charged in Canada it'll be a few month vacay in girl prison. Unless he's charged with rape or sexual assault and there's victims we don't know about, I don't forsee him being V& for long. Even then I guarantee you the light sentence would be infuriating.

I'm inclined to agree with this. As much as the RCMP hasn't done anything outward about him creeping on kids I still have to think they are building a case on him. If JY is allowed back in his unit and his computers are still there first thing he's doing is destroying those hard drives. They must realize that at this point which is why they reached out to Anna from PostMillenial to get some statements last night. I'm imaginging they are scrambling to get a warrant for electronic devices before the search warrant for the weapon is up. This in my head is probably also a reason why they didn't just let a local cop walk in and take his taser away and why this is being so drawn out for what should have been so simple.

Given how things are unfolding I would guess the federal police are using the taser as an excuse to get a search warrant. They were already investigating him for the Pedo stuff but didn't have enough to get a warrant. The taser was enough to get in the house.
