Article Yaniv raided / arrested by RCMP

I'm sure people have talked about this before but why didn't he get a real gun? You can get permits for handguns and rifles and such especially for hunting.
I mean, if you're gonna go illegal go all the way and get something actually threatening.

To think that this day would come.

''stun guns', could that be a typo, fatty got more than one?

According to Yaniv itself the RMCP seized 2 tasers, 1 pepper spray and a bear spray, that he admitted to having. Given that Yaniv has taken to threatening people in public about these things I hope the RCMP is taking this a bit more seriously than some sperg owning a pepper spray for self protection.

You gotta love how quick Yaniv is on his feet "Officers! Thank Gods you are here! Some internet person just sent me all this Child Porn! You need to protect me and arrest them!" uh huh! Suuuure...

So JY is the source of the information in this article and we're taking it at face value? @WGkitty did anyone in the building mention an actual arrest? Last I saw, Yaniv was seen leaving with Mama Yaniv after a discussion with the RCMP.
This feels like a “okay guise I was arrested so you can lay off now” thing.

According to the National Post article, he himself told them that he'd been arrested.

The RCMP detachment in Langley confirmed an arrest and search of a home in the area but could not confirm specific details, charges, timelines or named individuals, said Cpl. Craig Van Herk.
He said the RCMP received information and based on it officers have “an open investigation, an active and ongoing investigation.”

Van Herk would not confirm or deny the charges or the circumstances behind them or what Yaniv said was the reason for the RCMP’s return to her apartment.

Neighbours of Yaniv confirmed seeing her being taken away in handcuffs Monday and Yaniv did appear that day, side-by-side in a YouTube conversation with Blaire White, a U.S.-based transgender woman whose videos often deal with transgender issues.

Dammit Null get your hamsters spinning faster we need KF working at 101% at a time like this!

So Jonathan is claiming:
1) Local RCMP guys were totally cool with him having a taser, spray etc.
- This one is possible. Given how much JY was bragging about having it before this they certainly seemed not to care.
2) JY suffered some sort of medical event requiring an ambulance upon being arrested
- Obvious "jailitis" where an offender thinks faking an injury or illness will get them out of being taken to jail. Sometimes works. Didn't work here where they brought Jonathan to the hospital and then to the jail after he got bounced for faking.
3) JY got back to apartment after arrest and called cops after receiving some sort of pedo shit through FB messenger
- Not credible. What are the chances that such a thing would happen at that moment? Quite a coincidence. Jonathan trying to set up a defense for having CP on his computer? Not very bright but, then again, he's pretty dumb.
4) Cops were there for a long period to secure apartment and not for searching.
- Unlikely. Not only does this conflict with scuttlebutt our sources heard but it doesn't really stand to reason unless they literally kicked the door down. Otherwise it should not be hard at all to find a way to lock it.

Even a bad defense attorney could probably get that evidence suppressed. The YouTube video by itself is enough to prove he had one. They're looking for something other than just a couple of weapons.
You don't show up in court and meet your burden by just showing a youtube video of someone doing something. If nothing else you have to make sure you can prove that they were in a jurisdiction where that thing is illegal. Searching computer records would be an excellent way to do that. You also want to, if possible, show where the defendant got it from. If a judge signs off on it beforehand I doubt there's any real question of admissibility.

The whole "oh officer, someone sent me this horrible cp!" sounds like someone trying to bullshit an excuse before his cp stash is found. I know fuck all about Canadian law, but isn't the fact that Yaniv is at home and merrily posting away on his facebook a bad sign? If he were being charged with something like cp, surely they wouldn't let him out?

I can see them just confiscating his stun guns (two), giving him a fine cos oh trans people are legit scared of everyone, and Yaniv will then go skipping off to buy a couple more.

Dude I'm talking about CP not the stun gun.

They got the ACTUAL weapons in his ACTUAL possession. A full forensic search of electronics at that point would be a fishing expedition. If they were looking for CP the warrant mentioned more than evidence of stun gun and bear spray ownership.

Judges sign shitty warrants every day. There's basically no burden of proof required on a LEO is quite similar to the US:
reasonable and probable grounds, established upon oath, to believe that an offence has been committed and that there is evidence to be found at the place of the search
. They had enough to go after him for CP without playing silly and dangerous (to their case) games.

So eyes on the ground: did they come out with giant boxes of stuff?

Warrants don't always lead to on the spot arrests. The cops could have cloned his phone.and given it back for all we know.

We have one account of what happened from an unreliable narrator.

Oh please oh please, tell me my wish of seeing a Yaniv in cuffs pic will be fulfilled.

If Jessie's comments in the National Post are correct, we were mere minutes away from getting to see the raid/arrest happen live on the BW interview stream - if only BW hadn't terminated it when she did.

“About three minutes after (the broadcast ended), I have RCMP showing up at my door and putting me into cuffs saying I have a prohibited weapon,” [Yaniv] said in an interview.

Remember, Yaniv isn't a 'real' trans. Only real trans people are complete angels :)

Also, I wonder what this means for the waxing lawsuit. I want a precedent to be set! I really want to have my hairy pubes as well as the pubes of an army of men, stripped off by unsuspecting Asian ladies!

I know little about the RCMP, but if they operate anything like the UK police,it will take weeks or even months for them to go through his phone/hard drives etc. They could be sitting on the shelves for an age before they even power them up.

I think this raid seems to coincide with Yaniv being cut loose by the Trans community. If Yaniv was still in their loving, protective embrace I wonder if the Police would have gone anywhere near him.
