In the past they got away with it by keeping it hidden. That is a necessity when it isn't somewhat accepted in culture. Jeffrey Jones was prosecuted and registered as a sex offender for what he did. Paul Reubens plead guilty. How is a refuge for pedophiles prosecuting pedophiles?

I'm not saying it's accepted now, but there's more room for smokescreens, from MAPs to turning pedophilia into a "born-this-way" ailment, to using LGBTQ culture war as a shield for it.

But especially the Spacey thing. Can you imagine anyone trying that shit before 2004? Didn't he get acquited too, after the first accuser died by being driven over?

No, this was after that. When Jeffrey Jones got busted for CP and, worse, soliciting a minor, somehow Reubens ended up getting fingered and they tossed his house, finding some questionable content, mostly really old vintage muscle mags. He claimed to buy this kind of ancient gay content as a collector in bulk and didn't necessarily know what was in every lot. I'm suspicious of this claim but it isn't the kind of shit that would have merited prosecution by itself and I seriously doubt that's what they raided him looking for.

It was pled out to some nothing charge. (Jones ended up getting five years probation and had to register as a sex offender.)

If you want to talk about averages, the average gay male is about 16x more likely to engage in pedophilic acts than the average straight male. That's why despite men being the vast majority of pedo's, the child victims are about 50% male, 50% female. I can dig up the studies again.

So if you want to argue this case, it works better if you don't talk about averages.

Many of the gay leaders that managed to fight for gay rights effectively were part of NAMBLA, including Mattachine Society leader Harry Hay.
