Fat Acceptance Movement / Fat Girlcows

Also if the “fad diet” worked, it’s clearly not just a fad. Excuses, excuses.

Not much of a fucking fad diet if it leads to permanent weight loss, is it?

Do deathfats really believe that they need a personal trainer and a gym membership to lose weight? That's not even really that effective. What is effective is this crazy idea called eating less.

"my medical conditions" like for fuck's sake. I've posted about this before but the medical conditions that would prevent weight loss are something that you'd know that you fucking have, and I have literally never seen a deathfat mention them.

I'd like to address the "afford to eat healthy" part.

There is a myth being taken for gospel even in the mainstream that poor people get obese because they can't afford the healthy food the privileged eat.

Thus, they are cursed to eat McDonald's or Burger King every day. Or, if they buy food, it is low-quality processed junk. Their vegetable is usually a bag of chips on the side.

It is true a lot of fat people only eat shit like that. But cheap food is plentiful, probably more so than at any time in history.

Ten pounds of potatoes costs $4. The equivalent in McDonald's french fries would be something like $60.

A pound of lean ground beef can be had for $5. The equivalent in Quarter Pounders would be $20.

A pound of spaghetti costs $1.30. A pound of bananas runs about $0.60. A pound of broccoli for $1.84. A dozen eggs costs under two bucks. A pound of navel oranges is $1.50

Compare that to $4.99 bags of chips and $7 fast food combos.

My hypothesis is that supremely lazy people become fatsos, and supremely lazy people don't want to exercise or put effort into dieting. As supremely lazy people, they do not want to cook or even learn to cook. Lazy people want instant gratification; anything that takes longer than four minutes in a microwave is not worth the effort. Chantal illustrated this perfectly recently, when she did a half-hearted "Cook with Me" video, wolfed down the food, and then peevishly quipped, "45 minutes to cook it, and five minutes to eat it". She is annoyed not because she gobbled the food down in five minutes; she is peeved that she spent 45 minutes putting effort (a half-assed effort, but to her it is Herculean) into something.

Since so many deathfatties are bitter and angry (and all of them are lazy and dumb), using food prices as an excuse to be fat achieves multiple aims: it lets them off the old hookeroo, smacks the rich and privileged, reinforces their trampled-upon victim status, attracts pity, virtue signals, and justifies eating crap all in one go. SJW's picked up on this years ago, and the idea is firmly entrenched and widespread.

There is also a certain amount of ignorance and poor education at play; committed fatsos are demonstrably stupid. But I think laziness plays as big a role if not bigger.

Actually, good, honest, real food in America is pretty cheap relative to American standards of living. That's one reason why people come here. Don't fall for deathfatty propaganda!

I think the Twinkie diet professor did an awesome job proving that even if your main source of food is the convience store, you don't need to be fat. Along with laziness, I think there's a lack of will power, lack of other interests, and the fucking entitlement.

Even if you live in a food desert and all you can manage for dinner is chips and candy bars, it doesn't mean you have to eat 3000 calories worth. But with some people, if they're not getting the steak and potatoes they "deserve," they'll eat their fill and more with what they can get.

Then there's no sense of discomfort from their situation, they fill it with fat and sugar. If you call them out, as you said, they can bring up the affordability excuse, and attract pity. Add in the FAM, and hey! Why ever change?

(Edit- gave more succient link about the Twinkie diet)

I don’t know where you live but I haven’t seen those prices in a decade.

Fast food is a privilege. However, in many places you will find that meat and fresh produce cost more/calorie than simple processed carbs which is the argument. Most of the world lives on staple starches.

As for the Twinkie guy it’s important to remember he ONLY did this for a month and he was one person. It’s anecdotal evidence. Just because something has the proper calorie count doesn’t make it a viable option. We know that from the existence of Kwashiorkor, scurvy, etc.
People need a variety of micro and all three macro nutrients to survive and be healthy.

Edit: this sounds like an excuse for obesity but it’s not I just had a sperg as I find this topic interesting

Those are based on the average prices in the midwest US. I actually raised them a little from what the government reported:

Staple starches are wonderful. If billions of chinks can survive and thrive on a diet that is mainly white rice, why can't fat Americans? It's the portions that are off. Modern people especially in the West hardly move at all, and eat too much (and they drink liquid calories).

Of course it's going to cost more to buy broccoli or spinach vs whatever cheap processed junk if we're comparing calories; green vegetables basically have none! But I still don't accept that argument because if we're playing that game let's compare the calories in a bag of potato chips to the calories in a bag of rice. The rice costs half as much as the chips and it has far more calories. But it's also intended to stretch several meals as opposed to being a one- or two-sitting snack for a fatass. Healthy food only seems more expensive to fat people because they eat so much. Of course it's gonna be more exepensive to eat healthy if you're a glutton that requires an elephant's portion of veg or a lion's portion of lean meat.

Boneless, skinless chicken breast is about $5/pound (and there are more economical cuts anyway, but I digress). A pound of meat should feed four people (maybe five if two are small kids), for five dollars. Add veg on the side and a bit of starch in the form of potato/corn/bread/rice and you have a full balanced meal. Not to mention meatless options; beans and rice are a lot cheaper than processed junk food (much less meat prices) and have PLENTY of calories, and there are several veg options you can add to a beans/rice type meal that will boost the protein even more.

Most processed foods aren't even that bad for you. Provided your portions are in check, crackers and similar products are a good way for kids to get their needed extra calories, and help both kids and adults feel more satisfied with smaller main meals. One example of good processed food: a box of cereal is about $4 and there are choices with plenty of fiber and a not-absurd amount of sugar. A serving is 3/4 to 1 full cup depending on brand, and the box typically contains 8 to 10 servings. For $4. That's ten meals for a small child, or ten snacks for an adult/teen. The real issue is that hardly anyone makes a box of cereal last that long. People simply eat too much and they also eat mindlessly so they end up less satisfied.

It's only "cheaper" to subsist on processed food if you want to be fat and stay fat. If you are eating reasonable portions it is not some luxury to purchase healthy food. Lastly, the "I'm too poor waaah" argument just doesn't fly in an age where not only is healthy food affordable alongside junk food, but most of this country is on fucking food stamps. They CAN afford to eat healthy they just don't want to because they're gluttonous pigs.

Another thing to add onto this mess is how there is a massive section of the population that has no idea how to cook.

I'm always shocked by how many people out there have no idea how to properly cook anything. They look at all those base ingredients mentioned above and they just don't know what to do with them, so they heard to the frozen section for more ready made garbage. Or of they do try and make a healthy meal it comes out boring and bland so they attribute "healthy meals" as such and avoid them.

Learning how to cook properly is not that hard or time consuming to get a few staple recipes under your belt but some people have this bizarre view of cooking like it's this impossible task. (:_(

There's a food desert here. Well...it's more like the fucking great food sahara. The city keeps trying to fix it and subsidize grocery stores to move in there but they all close down relatively quickly because nobody shops at them. A lot of my patients live in that area and they're fat as fuck because there's nothing else to eat except soul food. Which is good but it's fucking terrible for you.

I think it's more of a cultural symptom. Whole Foods (strangely) has done a whole lot of good work ending food deserts by opening grocery stores, teaching people how to cook, building community kitchens, etc. which is what they need.

Go to walmart and get a pound of broccoli for $2.

I'm a former fat person who doesn't hate fat people.

That's because these people have an ingrained loser mentality (not literally, unfortunately).
Any reasonable person who wants to lose weight and has access to people who have done so successfully would just ask them how they did it and take notes and adapt that strategy to their own life (maybe substituting certain expensive foods for less costly ones with similar macros).
The loser way out is just to claim "privilege" and continue to be miserable.
Mr. Spaghetti recently uploaded a video that shows a similar thing when it comes to money, someone looked at his 15 year old Ferrari and spat on it out of spite, a lot of people seem to really dismay the success of others, and instead of taking notes on how they came to be in that position (hint: usually hard work), they just resign to being miserable and give up.

lol no
a pound of meat feeds two people for one meal. even less if they're adult men and really hungry.

Really? Maybe if you are sitting down to a plate of meat, that is true.

One could also make a perfectly satisfying spaghetti dish with a meat sauce containing meat and fresh veggies, and feed more than four. It takes almost no effort at all to do it, as a bonus. It works out to two, maybe three bucks per person. Fresher and tastier and more nutritious than a Big Mac combo, at less than half the price. It costs even less than a big bag of chips.

Yep, the Samoas and Togo are notorious for their obesity

Damn, that breaks my heart.
But this is why I hate fat acceptance, body positivity, whatever....
I just hate it so fucking much.
And the people that promote that shit are evil.
How can you see the absolute carnage that obesity causes and push it on people.
(slight power level here) I've worked in my fair share of bariatric wards, and dealt with many bariatric patients.... and the just gruesome reality of eating yourself to death. It's vile, disgusting, and cruel. As I need not to remind anybody on here. But slowly dying a gross, painful, death. (If you're lucky enough for death to take you. More often you just rot out of existence immobile in a large bed) - it's anything but "beauty"
I just shake my head. How can people like mermaidjude, tess, and the rest of 'em promote such.... just...... how can they promote such horribleness on people.
They dress it up in "loving yourself' and "living your best life"
But I don't know if they are truly psychopaths lacking of empathy, wanting others to die soaked in feces and piss and being eaten up by infections - or they are just ignorant of what happens when obesity overcomes you as you age.
Either way. It's cruel.

most of the world lives on staple starches, yes. most of the world also isn't anywhere close to fat.
Absolutely. That was what I was saying but I don’t think anyone understood.

My point was you need more than just one macronutrient to thrive and that starches are by far cheaper than meat and fresh produce which people were calling cheap. I wasn’t talking about obesity as pointed out in my edit.

cut almost half the cost of your meal by replacing the meat with lentils or beans.
This was my entire point you rated dumb. Starches are cheaper than meat.

just for reference: half a pound of meat is roughly one chicken breast, or one medium-size steak. that (combined with a side of potatoes or something similar) is a pretty normal portion size for a person to eat in one sitting.

but yeah it obviously depends on how you prepare it. you can make it go a lot further by thinning it out, like turning it into some kind of meat sauce to serve over pasta, or make it into a soup, stew or curry with lots of filler.

I mean... that's the point I was making. If you (generalizing "you" meaning fatties) are claiming to be poor and can't afford to eat HULTHY, then you are the demographic that needs to settle for four-ounce portions of meat instead of six- or eight-ounce portions. You will have to stretch your meals with starchy and/or leafy accompaniments in order to get balanced nutrition. This is true whether you're a fatty or not.

Just because it's not optimal doesn't mean it's impossible, which is what fatties imply when they cry that healthy food isn't affordable. It's similar to the argument they make that DIETS ARE UNHULTHY, DIETS ARE DEATH meanwhile they're not at all concerned that their morbid obesity is sure to cut their lifespan in half. Maybe there's a named logical fallacy for this phenomenon.

Anyway, point is it won't hurt you at all to eat less meat*, you'll be just fine especially if you have that meat alongside a veg or legume that has a bit of protein to supplement the meat. Yes, this works even if you're a man. Most people on the planet live like this and have always lived like this.

*I'm not vegetarian/vegan and I'm not preaching anything. I'm just tearing down a common fatty justification for eating like shit. And eating like shit includes overeating HULTHY food

At the end of the day its nothing but excuses...

I was a former fatty and I made all the same fucking excuses as these other fatties. That's all it was, just excuses. Once I got my shit together and realized I am going to die prematurely and I had destroyed any quality of life I realized it's not nearly as hard as people say it is; and it most definitely isn't as hard as being a 400 lbs cow. It honestly just really boils down to EATING LESS. Whether it be fucking twinkies or salads, if you eat less than you burn, you will lose weight. It truly is the easiest concept in the world, but fatties make it seem so fucking hard. YOU WILL SURVIVE on 1000 cal a day, and eventually you will get used to it; if you stick to it for longer than 48 hours.

For fuck's sake; I'm just here to gawk at fat crabs as they scrabble and tussle away in their greasy mayonnaise bucket. Can we get a separate Diet and Nutrition Powelevel/Spergathon thread to contain this, and other food/diet discussion? It would help keep Chantal's thread from getting bogged down, as well.

Pretty sure people who think promoting obesity is bad also think that promoting smoking and alcoholism is bad too.

So they married less than a year ago, now she's "poly" and is leaving her husband and is now making squashing porn videos with her new feeder.

Shit, isn't that PearChan? There's some site where she was selling vids of her lard jiggles as she works out and it was beyond revolting. Barely ambulatory, winded from a brisk walk. The husband she's divorcing is an absolute whiner so I can't really fault her on that one. What you get for banging fatties.
