Yeah it's a more heavy duty ssri and has a lot of side effects. Not an uncommon prescription in america though from what I hear. They still prescribe lithium out the ass. But if Vics on Zoloft then I doubt that's for nothing. Poor guy.

I'm surrounded by boomers who are socially isolated due to health issues. They are all anxiety riddled messes that don't understand reality.

While it is a mental health issue a cheaper solution might be to get people out of the shells they have created, rather than give them a pill regimen that props them up so they can function.

My point is that it isn't just young men that are having problems with isolation, it effects all age groups. Young men just get violent about it.

Fuck the boomers. They grew up in easy mode where you could buy a house on a grocery clerk salary and jobs had pensions. Some elderly, fat, diabetic who needs a rascal to get around ain't gonna do shit except die alone in their house, get eaten by their pets and not be found until weeks later.

There are no opportunities for men these days. Especially if you are white. Dispossessing a large number of fighting age men isn't a good idea.

I know the boomers had it easy. America was had the advantage of an intact industrial base after World War 2.

The point was this seems to be a cultural problem stemming from isolation. Our basic needs can be met so why compromise with people? You can be hardcore in your political beliefs because you won't suffer ostracism for them. And social media only makes it worse since you can retreat to a hug box and never change.

Unity brought prosperity but the prosperity brought diffusion which will destroy the prosperity. We are simply victims of our civilizations success.

It's Vic, I think it's safe to say that he's going to pull in a whole hell of a lot of people- EASILLY triple anything that Monica could have ever scraped up at her little comic signing... that all of 20~30 people even went to. Especially seeing how it's such a good and busy area that's going to have a whole HELL of a lot of foot traffic in and around it.

The location is worth going to just to see the hotel and have lunch there. It's a landmark. Possibly some of the more well to do attendees are even staying there already anyway.

There are times when I wonder if Twitter's the worst social media platform or if that honor should go to Tumblr.

I'm more familiar with the dumpsterfire that is Twitter, than I am with the dumpsterfire that is Tumblr. The exceptionalism of Twitter and its users is one reason I never had a proper personal account. I only ever got on Tumblr mainly to view the official Toonami page where staff would answer fan questions. I have no clue if they even still have their page or not.

I never heard about the exceptionalism on Tumblr before joining the Farms, which I did only to participate in this thread. But what a complete dumpsterfire it was/is, judging from the horror stories I've read.

My favorite horror story was when they had to ban all porn because underaged Tumblr thots were using the site to advertise their self made child porn, their "sex work" blogs (literally illegal camwhoring and/or tricking men into statutory rape), or outright forcing their way into 18+ communities and acting downright indignant when college aged gay men told the 13 year old trying to imitate Desmond is Amazing to fuck off, which would result in Tumblrinas raising a holy war against... the homophobic gay men.

Oh, and the porn bots that would take the underage thots' self made child porn and repost it everywhere... and how Tumblr would show thumbnails on the sides of blogs without your input. Hope you noticed that thumbnail was illegal and put that drive through a 3 pass wipe, buddy.

Sadly, that crackdown broke containment, which lead to them moving to Instagram, Reddit, and Twitter -- which still have no policing of that shit. As I've mentioned before, if you're looking at non-2D lewds on any form of social media, you are literally begging for a party van.
