Actually, I was wondering who Toei distributes with in Japan? Also if they talk to Sony-Japan who might have some control over Sony-North America.

If Toei is pissed and can talk to Funimation's boss' boss, then that changes things a bit.
I believe Toei Animation distribute DB here themselves. I dunno about Sony Japan being involved, but I won't be surprised if studio execs are having conversations regarding this situation behind the scenes.

I do think a lot of it is professional jealousy, but I think there's other reasons thrown in there too, like Sean isn't so much jealous as he is just rabidly hateful because Vic is an outspoken Christian. What I want to know is exactly what sparked it. These people have hated him for years, but something made them go 'no, THIS time we're doing something', and I don't believe for a second that it was hanleia. She's just a pawn. That's why I think it was Monica getting rejected some time after Vic would have been 'free' and couldn't hide behind having a fiancee she's friends with as a way to let her down nicely. I think she was the last bit of weight to flip the scale and trigger the move. I know they're using Sabat's power, and he's apparently the one calling the shots, but if he could have done it on his own he would have long ago.
Best I can figure is him breaking up with Specht and moving to Texas triggered it. Seems like it was an ugly split and they sided with her. When he showed up on their doorstep things went downhill pretty quickly.

Interesting. However, I do find Hanleia to be less of pawn in this whole affair. She is the whole chess board; the game started when someone decided to pick up her statement, lay it out, and play.

Let's say that the Shakespearean Mystery Trio are all giving each other advice, trying to outwit their opponent. They easily took Game 1, but the opponent's momentum rapidly increased after the first game. And slowly, but surely, this continuing chess match will attract the eyes of the public. But despite random people popping in, trying to disqualify the opponent just so the Trio can have the pleasure of finally "winning" for once, the opponent still plays and continues to triumph, as they too have their own party that offers factual support however they can.

Killvic just wants Vic to put in that pretty head of his the idea that everything's stacked against you, you have no friends, fans, or future, and you won't be missed should you die or leave, we don't care which (probably should do the former for our sake though).

It's like a game between children (killvic mostly). All that matters is that they win, let everyone know they've won, and remind the opposition that despite their best efforts, who even cares because nobody likes the losers.

If only we could turn back the clock, and tell Vic to hold his tongue about gay ships. If only.

I would actually compare this, and Twitter mobs in general, to the blitzkrieg. They overwhelm their target before the target knows they are under attack.

But they failed to neutralize Vic and are left holding a bunch of positions that are untenable for any long term strategy. They dug trenches on Twitter and sadly can't move to any other platform. Everyday they lose ground. The newspaper article that we already forgot about was the last trick up their sleeves.

Now all that is left is the hard slogging and trench fighting. At least until the TCPA hearing.

I don't think Hanleia is that important. I do suspect that she was at least an unwitting part of the conspiracy - that someone encouraged her to post that tweet when she did so they had an excuse - but I don't believe she's the key/trigger, because fujos have been having hissy fits about Vic regularly since 2010. And Hanleia's attempt was weak, compared to most fujoshi attempts. No petition, no angry ranting. just a circlejerking tweet thread.

Toei execs are undoubtedly getting involved, probably questioning why the star English VA that they chose themselves without auditions to play the main character in the 3rd all time most successful anime film is suing their American dubbing partner. Sony is most likely a wild card, because they're all about saving image on the American side of things, no matter the backlash or outrage and might be why Funimation is getting away with this frivolous lawsuit. If the ISWV youtube retards were of any use they'd be using this dead time to get the opinion of the Nips, but they won't because that requires work and would fill up more than 10 minutes of a video, and only Hero Hei actually has an interest in anime.

Edit: read "frivolous lawsuit" as Vic is likely going to win, and it's useless to resist

Two things I'm genuinely curious about: Was this a case of a long con, where every friendly interaction with Vic was a two-faced lie? Or was there genuine friendship, or at least a cordial professional relationship, before some switch got flipped?

And then I have to wonder, which choice is more horrifying?

And as an aside, is there some kind of trick to getting an animated gif avatar now.

Have a gut feeling the ex-fiancé has more of a hand in this then it seems. Brushed her off at first until I learned they only called things off last year and then heard that vile email she sent. It was no mistake she sent that to Vic while he was at his lowest point and is the kind of thing that could easily push a person off the deep end. This is just speculation and could be way off from the truth, but she obviously holds a lot of hate in her heart for Vic which admittingly she has a right to be angry but it clearly passes anger and feels more like vengeful.

Speaking from having a similar kind of backstabbing "friends", I can say having looked back at everything.. its' a bit of both. There may have been genuine friendship in some capacity, but the social pressure and the fear of being the next black sheep can make people turn on even their closest friends.

Everyone has a price, so the saying goes.

Once their value of your friendship dips below their value of whatever else they're comparing it to, you suddenly become expendable. The measure of how disgusting that person actually is however, is how far under the bus they throw you, or if they just simply stay quiet and become a bystander to your public execution.

You find out real damn fast who your real friends are

Call this speculation but I have another theory by reading some of the posts about monica and specht. I think the break up in may 2018 was the first domino to this and Michelle specht plays a much bigger role in this, told Monica everything about Vic thus her, Monica, ron, jamie et al decided a calculated couple d'etat to get rid of Vic.

It all backfired and now many of em are in deep.

Look at it like this, Nick, Ty, and Vic have shown everyone that Vic is pulling all sorts of wins in Court, at Conventions, at Signings, at Events, and now even on fucking TWITTER.

Look at the downright insane amount of love, support, likes, and retweets ANY of Vic's posts get right in the heart of his accusers' little playground. His overwhelming success after everything they did to end his life and career is being thrown right in their face in their own backyard.

These people wanted to completely and utterly destroy him in the Court of Public Opinion... and oh sweet merciful titty-fucking Christ has it blown up in their faces in the most spectacular way possible. The Court of Public Opinion, the tool they tried so desperately to use against Vic, has now been turned against them.

It's only just begun as well, imagine how fucking bad it's going to get for them when those TCPAs get crammed back up Monica's ass- where they most likely came from. Suddenly, the ONLY THING that #KickVic has been saying would "dismiss the whole case" is fucking GONE. You can bet your ass there are going to be hundreds upon hundreds, maybe even thousands, of vindicated ISWV-ers that are going to plaster that all over the place.

As I have said so many times before: "The. Longer. This. Goes. On. The. Worse. It. Gets. For. Kick. Vic."

NPC'S don't submit because of their pride and doubling down on this shit won't allow them to do so, none of these fools (From the VAS, ANN, Armzgurl) will apologize or admit they were wrong and even if Vic won with Soye, Liar, Blamey Harpy, and Failmation apologize he'll still be called a rapist even though his opposition admitted they lied.

But hey, maybe Sony will start cleaning house with Marchi and Rial getting cut first.

Honestly, after the lawsuit stuff got kicked off Armzgurl shoulda slinked back into her hole of irrelevance she had after #Change the Channel faded away where she was losing attention due to nobody giving a shit. Instead, she's still flapping her lips and it couldn't be more great.

Once that ass goes to court, the PULL hugbox and Twitter Clown Circus can't save her broke ass.

Want to know something really, REALLY fucking funny? They aren't going to be given a goddamn choice.
Remember TheQuartering's lawsuit about the dickhead who called him a nazi and assaulted him... remember how it ended?

Think about it for a second, Vic is suing for Defamation and TI after defendants completely and utterly uprooted his career right when he was about to hit another peak of fame for his role as Broly. Defendants and others went out of their way to desperately attack Mignogna in any way possible... his fans, his job, his convention appearances, you name it.

When Vic wins, do you know what would REALLY help him repair the damage that the now broke defendants caused...? A Mother-Fuking apology video where they admit to lying about him to fans, cons, and his employers.

And before anyone says "Vic and Ty can't FORCE them to do that" If Jeremy could, you bet your ass Vic and Ty, who are in a DEFAMATION AND TI LAWSUIT, could make an argument for the Court to FORCE Monica, Ron, and Jamie to do the same.

And it would be a very easy argument to make: "Punitive Damages and the result of this case will only help so much- These people need to be forced to ADMIT that they willingly lied and defamed Mr. Mignogna to the pubic and to his employers. That would aid immensely in him regaining the reputation that defendants destroyed with their lies."

I hope to fuckin' GOD that Ty pushes that in court because it will almost certainly win through.

Edit: You could also bring up the cringy fucking #BeThere video to the judge: "They were willing to rally people against Mignogna, asking people to '#BeThere' for defendants... they didn't hesitate, why should we? These people need to admit that they lied, on video, to aid in repairing the reputation of a man they tried to destroy."

Steve Blum is a serial cheater. He and Mary Elizabeth McGlynn both divorced their spouses and hooked up with each other. Messy af. Makes Bebop painfully ironic

I know him best as Wolverine.

I.wish there could be a snap and Sean dies and we get Peter and Kirby to replace him lol.
Peter and Kirby? Why both?

I've continuously posed this question, and it's what bothers me the most about a case whenever something like this is brought up, does an apology or admission of guilt actually do anything other than expose the pieces of shit for who they are? Take the Johnny Depp and Andy signore revelations as an example.

To the extent of my knowledge, I don't think signore got his job back and that chick that accused him still has everything she got from 'exposing' him. Just like Depp, whilst all the crap was going on they still cast him in the crappy Harry Potter spin off and he's going to be in the next one. Other than that I don't see any more movies coming up for him. Again, I don't know what their current situations are like (they could be busy with court stuff so don't have time to get back to doing what they did before) but it doesn't look like them turning out to be innocent and exposing their accusers did much.

Go is great but... Wait until they discover "Legend of the Overfeind". Then wait till they discover that you could buy it at Best Buy in the 90s. Never was an anime so pure or chaste ;)

Hentai nothing. Wait till they find out about Japan's idea of kids comics and cartoons.

Doraemon. Most popular kids comic and cartoon of all time. Has 1345 chapters across 45 volumes (I think it only stopped because the artists dropped dead), 3 different anime series across 3 generations (26, 1787, and 567 episodes, respectively), and 40 feature films. Wholesome as hell, basically a scifi buddy show about a 9 year old kid having a robot sent back from the future by his grandkid, who wants to ensure his grandfather doesn't grow up to be such a loser.

Also has frequent fanservice and nudity, especially of the main female lead, of whom the main character frequently uses future-tech gadgets to try and win over, or failing that, perv out on. For example, a later story has him absentmindedly teleport himself to her bathroom while she's taking a bath, and in a panic, he accidentally brainwashes her to become an militant pro-nudity activist.

Esper Mami, by the same artist. One of the first magical girl series, about a middle school girl with ESP. Who happens to make spending money by working for her dad's art studio as a nude model, of which they don't really treat as fanservice (or as something worth censoring) in any serious way, in either the manga or anime. It's supremely weird to see a kids show in that weird 1970s proto-anime style... with nipples.

Macchingu Machiko Sensei. A kids show about a kindergarten teacher whose students constantly plot to strip her naked and molest her. And are usually at least partially successful. It got 95 episodes and 8 volumes, and something like 15 side-volumes self-published by the original author (which are basically softcore porn).

Yes, Go Nagai was pretty famous for his fanservice et all, but that sort of stuff has been in the medium since the very beginning from literally the most wholesome normie-friendly shows on up, and like everything else SJWs want to push, their idea of some sort of pristine, male-gaze-free anime saved from the original sin of the patriarchy is based on a delusion.

To say nothing about how the Japanese would openly laugh at their authoritarian demands that Japan change their culture and industry to mollify some morbidly obese cunt in California. Japan's USED to dealing with Fujoshits by now. Hell, Manga style was based on "problematic patriarchal male gaze inducing" pin up art left behind in Japan by the American soldiers from WW2.

And before anyone says "Vic and Ty can't FORCE them to do that" If Jeremy could, you bet your ass Vic and Ty could make an argument for the Court to FORCE Monica, Ron, and Jamie to do the same.

Unless I'm wrong, Jeremy didn't force them to do anything. They agreed to do it as part of a settlement. The court cannot compel speech, I don't think, not even an apology or retraction.

Now, I do remember that Brad Wardell forced his MeToo hoaxer to write a full paged apology and retraction, admitting she made it all up. It didn't stop the SJW Games Journoactivists from smearing him. But again I think that was a settlement, not something the judge forced her to do.

However, if the lawsuit goes sideways for the defendants, and Ty Beard goes "It looks like we're gonna win, and win big. But if you agree to a settlement that includes a recording explaining how you lied about it all and made it up, we'll knock off a few million."

Because Go Nagai isn't part of KickVic or IStandWithVic. Mazinger, Great Mazinger, Getter Robo, Getter Robo G, Dino Mech Gaiking, Grendizer, Devil Man, all only available subbed as god intended! None of you whipper snappers probably even know what those are. Your loss.
No I know Devil Man. Zero idea what the other stuff is.

I generally enjoy subbed much more than dubbed. But I'm not a huge anime fan as it is. A lot of it, like Dragon Ball, I find tedious. I don't want to watch a million episodes of something.

Please no.
What are you some sort of VA worshipping weeb? /sneed

We'd take Peter Kelamis back in a heartbeat you fuck.
Yet he's taking it anyway. He willfully takes it. But he'd also take it against his will. Because he's a beta cuck.

The court cannot compel an apology. That is a violation of the 1st amendment. Even in criminal matters it does not following guilty verdicts, though the judge gets extra vindictive if you dont show some sort of contrition. The only way a public apology happens is as part of an out of court settlement agreement between the parties. US case law is pretty clear on this one. The one thing worse then the government stopping you from speaking is to make you speak. Compelled speech is a special kind of tyranny, and it's odd only the United States tends to recognize this.

As other pointed out, the only way to get an apology and recantation of their lies would be through part of a settlement or if they suddenly grew a conscience.

This is also a civil case and not criminal. Meaning Even if vic won it doesnt have to show the defendent as guilty 100% but only to show through preponderance of evidence that they were most likely lying/commited TI (IE 51% +). And you know if Vic wins, they will still say, it was unfair and Judge Chupp was a mysoginistic bible thumper trump supporter and what not (BELIEVE ALL WOMYN). I mean if you can prove they 100% were lying sack of shit and commited TI then thats fine but its not required to win this. Anyway is reputation will be forever damaged. Nothing can change that even if all parties involved were saying they lied about everything. Non party will still mouth off for whatever reason and the lingering thought that he "may" be a rapist or pedophile will always linger around.

Because Go Nagai isn't part of KickVic or IStandWithVic. Mazinger, Great Mazinger, Getter Robo, Getter Robo G, Dino Mech Gaiking, Grendizer, Devil Man
Come on man, how could you forget Cutey Honey now? Nagai basically helped develop what would become the magical girl genre.

Surprisingly profound Sir. Twitter really is a Lightning War.
