She'll be his partner against evil if she does this!

There is a lesson that kickvic is quickly learning. The weakness of mob mentality. If you ever find yourself against an angry mob alone, your best bet for survival is to arm yourself with a shotgun and point it at the mob. In reality, this wont increase you odds of winning a direct fight, they'd overwhelm you no matter what. But doing this ensures that if there is a fight, casualties are guaranteed. Thus a fight will never start as long as its clear you will shoot if they get closer.

People join a mob because they feel the high numbers give them power and that is true. But very few are comfortable with risks of battle. That's why no matter how many mobs appear in dictatorship counties, the dictator's military always disperses the mob, despite the mob having a huge numbers advantage. Once its becomes certain that starting a fight will guarantee death for someone, very few will step forward to be the one in the front.

For years however, twitter mobs had no equivalents for the "shotgun defense," and once it became possible that you destroy entire careers, cancel culture was on the rise. In truth, any political faction could and would have used it to control the modern debate, it just so happens that the left and far left dominated Twitter and Facebook. However, lawsuits are quickly becoming the shotgun against twitter mobs and if enough of them happen and succeed, I do expect cancel culture to die down a bit. It wouldn't go away just like how real mobs didn't go away, but now the targets will have a defense and they won't be as destructive as before. It's for this reason I really want Marzgurl to be added in the lawsuit despite there being no financial incentive. Hitting someone in the Twitter mob would be the definitive proof that if lawsuit is threatened, there will be guaranteed casualties.

Or do it like meg...

"There's no strength in numbers
Have no such misconception ..."

Most of those militarys are not much more than mobs, thats why you seen civil war in africa all of the time.
both sides fear starting combat but it will start at somepoint when the tentions are to high.

There was always Jim, the burner of Communitys.

They are losing power much faster than lawsuits.
to quote the Threepenny Opera:
"Erst kommt das Fressen, dann kommt die Moral."
The big Companys who give them Power are turning away from them slowly because they just lose sooo much money.

I've said this so many times that this situation is stupid this is no ordinary stupidity they've gone beyond that to super stupid god super stupid levels I hope Ty is aware that it was about Ilich not vic and Vic lets him go scorch to Ill rain on these fuckers.
That made me laugh. Super stupid god super stupid.:lit:

"Or better yet, Super Stupid Blue!"

So Funimation finally updated their One Piece dub (well the East Blue episode and not DUBBING PUNK HAZARD OR DRESSROSA)

In the video they're using Vic's version of We Are. Don't know why after what they and their scumbag VA's have done to him

And in-person, that would be correct.

The thing that people are slowly starting to realize is that 10,000 people on twitter, or online amount to literally 0 people in reality. You can do a lot with the smoke and mirrors of the internet, make a fishing boat look like a fleet of Spanish Galleons, but when penny comes to the pound - nobody actually materializes.

Ironically, Marvel kind of made a statement about that in the latest Spiderman movie, with Mysterio. Sometimes the biggest threats are manufactured to create a hero, and don't actually exist at all, even though the damage they cause certainly is real.

I’m guessing a PR move? Maybe they heard the accusations of blacklisting so they drop this to show he hasn’t been Stalin’d. Either way, One Piece fans are eating out of the palm of Funimation’s hand due to “not being 4Kids”.

4Kids really was shit though. They took anime and dumbed it down to make it appear as a kids show and some of the censoring just looked dumb.

A lot of shows they dubbed actually are kids' shows (e.g. Pokémon, Kirby, Tokyo Mew Mew, Magical DoReMi, Dinosaur King), however, Japan's standards for what's appropriate for children are different from ours. Non-satellite Japanese broadcasts don't care much for language, nudity as long as it's not sexual (hence onsen scenes and magical girl transformation sequences), and violence unless it gets extreme (see Evangelion), but even American cable has standards for what's appropriate. Toonami even still has to comply with some of these standards despite its late-night slots and audience demographic.

Yeah, they went overboard with the censorship (has made for great memes, though), but unfortunately they aired mostly on a non-cable network and the FCC breathes down everyone's necks, and Kids' WB also had a bit of a chokehold on 4KIDS. If 4KIDS was smart, they could've released uncut footage behind a paywall on their site like I think was originally intended before they chickened out, but I wonder if there was issues with that. I dunno, something was definitely up with them at management level for them to have made some stupid decisions. It's also possible there may have been some sort of bias against anime given the 2003 TMNT series proved itself to have been just as dark and violent as the uncut Yu-Gi-Oh and Shaman King, and it's entirely possible Al Kahn is that much of a fucking idiot, but I doubt we're ever going to hear word from an ex-employee about what went on behind-the-scenes.

I do find it hilarious the Saban dub of Digimon got away with more shit than Pokémon, but most of Pokémon's "crap past the radar" was more in the dialogue than the visuals, which I will always stand my ground on that 4KIDS could at least write memorable original dialogue. And awesome theme songs.

Wasn't FUNimation kind of similar to 4KIDS when it first started out, now that I think about it? They did silly shit as well before they took it more seriously, unless I'm thinking of Ocean Group because lol Canada.

I remember trying to watch a US localization of "Freezing" on Hulu, but it was completely unwatchable due to censoring. All the fight scenes with attending gore/nudity were edited out with the most ghastly black paint. With absolutely no care done at all. At times half the fricking frame would just be black paint and voice over and you might see an eyeball or the top of someone's head. It was...bad. Funimations work too now that I look into it.

There's also DiC with their English adaption of Sailor Moon. The voice acting was total crap. They even made Sailor Uranus and Sailor Neptune into cousins instead of actual lovers - which the manga never said that they were cousins to begin with but DiC went with it anyways to make it look like they are having a incestuous relationship. Viz Media - in my honest opinion - did a better job than DiC 10 years ago.

Hmm. How long ago was this? Funimation has both seasons in their uncensored jiggly glory.

Loving this fresh hot take from patient 0 herself,

"iF sHe MaDe iT uP tHaTs TeRrIbLe!"

Yeah, but you didn't fact-check and you ran with it. WHERE DID I LIE? = "I shot the sheriff, but I didn't shoot the deputy, your honor"

It's more like "yes your honor, I DID shoot the postal delivery guy, but I thought he was my crazy ex boyfriend trying to break in and rape me!"

It's a stupid defense. Especially coming from the "words are violence" crowd.

That's at least a defense if you're only on trial for shooting the deputy, though. The defendants here are on trial for all their defamation.

hopefully it cleans up some of this WOKE shit in the future, or at least makes some twitter whore more cautious about lying for attention.

Brought this over from the Rekieta thread, because it was a decent summation of the entire situation up to this point. I would like to add a few things because it warranted a slight expansion to flesh out the understanding of the then, now, and possible near future(s).

One thing that has been clear from the start, is that the Defendants in this case could have pulled the rip cord at anytime, and filed a motion to settle all of this out of court. Why haven't they? There's a few answers to that, but to boil them down into something easier to mentally digest, I'll go with this: #metoo SJW libtard wokeness doubling-down. It is in their very mentality to never give up or to never give in on a lost cause, because they "think" they're right, and to hell with the rest of society for not being one of them. The same goes for their orbiters, outliers, and allies. They are all of the same group-think SJW mentality, and will thus gravitate to a cause that fits their own ideologies and character narratives.

Now, to tune up the hissing gallery at me, I was reminded today of a quote from Rahm Emanuel: "You never want a serious crisis to go to waste." Think about that for a minute. They tried to oust the Plaintiff gently, but that didn't work. They tried to one-side parlay, but that didn't work either. So now you have what we have, a formented serious crisis reaction in the form of a lolsuit. Since then, it's been just like that damn Energizer bunny that keeps going, and going, and going...

But there's a second part to that quote from Rahm Emanuel that most people tend to miss: "And what I mean by that is an opportunity to do things you think you could not do before." Go back and look and anything and everything related to this lolsuit, and you will see this quote realized in their actions and words done thusfar. That ridiculous TCPA filing that has never been done before, the furthering defamation that normally you wouldn't do because it would further prove Plaintiff's argument, hearsay generating more hearsay, lies upon more lies, etc.

So, will this "crisis" clean up the woke shit, and make the Twitter whores more cautious about lying for attention?

Given everything I've seen and read so far...I've put a rubber band on the X button...

I've said this before, but worth repeating. By this point they, the defendants, have crossed the threshold of no return and put on the line everything from their careers to their reputation on being right. If they were to apologize, they'd lose everything. Arguably they probably would lose more from an apology then they would losing the lawsuit outright since they could save face with some of their dumber fans by blaming the judge or the "system." So a settlement isnt likely to happen with anyone besides funimation. And funimation would only settle if their corporate overlord Sony decided that settling was much cheaper.

I'm wondering why it took this long for people to realize that the story that was linked by HanLeia was talking about an actual pedo and not Vic. Did no one bother to read the story until just a day or two ago? Or did everyone just assume that she was implying that Vic married a 16 year old?
Someone enlighten me, please.

4Kids really was shit though. They took anime and dumbed it down to make it appear as a kids show and some of the censoring just looked dumb. Americans saw that anime was drawn and just thought because they "looked like cartoons" that they should be handled the same way. Pretty sure Yugioh is a hundred times cooler when you don't edit out the guns and make the characters stand there looking stupid with their hand in a weird ass way.
That can apply to almost all forms of media that don't have a lot of popularity. If something goes on for too long and becomes more popular, it also becomes easier for it to destroy itself. You know?

I'll agree 4kids did a lotta bad things, but children's card games to the death is snark bait incarnate regardless of guns being made invisible. Doesn't help the anime even without 4kids is heavily neutered/has some dumb anime original ideals that don't work, like the anime adaptation of its final arc or back in Battle City, Viser Des/Byser Shock being censored to whatever insane whim the the Japanese censors placed on it/the sand in Mai's Penalty Game being poisonous bugs in mangaland.

As long as people to the right of Stalin want to keep committing Category Error and ignoring the obvious while chasing ghosts, the woker than thou will keep pushing whatever current truth they have on the agenda.

When you have a bunch of militant left/feminists using SOP political practices against their opponents on TV and you have a bunch of militant left/feminists using the very same SOP political practices against their opponents on the internet, anime, video games, comics and independent media, perhaps...just perhaps it's time to stop and think "You know what? There might be a connection here."
