StoneToss (allegedly, formerly Red Panels)

New comic. It's pretty normal. I wonder when he'll make a weirder comic page again like when he made a comic about how jet fuel can't melt steel bars.

I just think you're talking about something completely different. What does this have to do with the comic we were talking about?

Whether you agree with the commentary of the comic or not, it was commentary on non-cheating promiscuity. That's the whole set-up of the comic.

Being familiar with the line of thought, typically divorces are included, widows are excluded (they followed till death do us part) and rape victims are "depends" group, as in, it depends on whether the person put herself into a very risky situation (say getting shitfaced drunk in harvey weinsteins hotel room).

Same thing how frowning on single mothers typically doesn't include frowning on widows. The difference being the recognition of choices and judgement involved with leading to that situation.

Title: COME to Jesus
Description: “How quickly we forget” and “it’s been tried before”

I don’t know what he’s referencing here. There is unity in Christianity, but not uniformity; not every church is trying to appeal to gays, and most churches didn’t try to in the first place.

Like the rest for August, seems lacking in subtlety. The punchline is way too apparent, and not even that funny.

Smells like victim blaming to me. I suppose it doesn't have much meaning to some since SJWs have fucked up the meaning with overused reeee-ing.

But it does.

There are still more conservative churches that don’t like homosexuals. Also like implication that all gays are pedos. Very nice storm toss.

I think that was a reference to the rape part of what you said.

That makes sense.

I suppose it is victim blaming, but the good kind.

Like if a woman asked me for advice whether she should commit to a guy deeply in debt and the guy is in debt because he gave tens of thousands to a nigerian prince in the hope of becoming a multimillionaire, then I'd advice her not to commit to such an idiot. Same thing really.

Essentially it isn't even victim blaming, it's not like you're prosecuting them like in Saudi Arabia, instead it's choosing not to date/commit to people who have shown to have bad judgement.

Maybe he means the unitarian ones. There are some churches that still don't accept homosexuals and chastise them while their convents and parishes are full of them. Maybe is not only homosexuality they cover but priests with girlfriends too, I met an ex priest married to a woman while he is in charge of an orphan house, and he's one of the best men I have ever seen in my life. Catholic churches in my country has been more mellow since Franco's times, sure there are comments said by bishops that are fucked up, like one in Tenerife who said that kids desire their abuse (sick mother fucker) but most catholics in my country even desire the death penalty on pedos. The parents are far more vigilant than before when leaving their kids alone with priests, but their abuse rate is very low compared to teachers or coaches. Most pedo cases happen within the family and their teachers tho.

I’m no artist but come on. The color pallet seems really dull. Why no face on the POTUS? I guess because alien faces are easier to draw 👽

What makes these particular comics shine are attention to details, and I just see none where there could be plenty.

Punchline is, again, really weak imo.

I miss his edgy stuff.

I can think of a few possible reasons he didn't draw the president's face.
1. He's not a good enough artist to do a caricature.
2. He didn't want to piss off part of his audience by directly mocking their God Emperor.
3. He wanted the strip to be "timeless."

Regardless, the strip is visually worse for it.

#3. He's drawn and made fun of Trump before.

Some of his fans are ethnonationalist wannabes, who were upset and SHOCKED that the New Yorker with a Jewish stepson was cool with Jews. After Trump called Jerusalem the capitol of Israel, they don't like him anymore and making fun of him is fair game. Stonetoss also strikes me as the type of right winger who, like Metokur, thinks that the wall was a campaign lie despite all evidence that a wall is being built.

It's just meant to be applicable to any president. Typically unless he's specifically criticizing a president, he'll draw the face. The attention to detail is okay, at least. I like how he conveyed the president turning around using nothing but body language and the lower torso.

The joke is alright, too, it doesn't go at lengths to explain itself. And despite "Jews run the world" being a pretty stock opinion, it's still pretty edgy compared to vanilla politics. Overall I'd say it's thoroughly okay.

So you're saying don't be with someone who makes bad choices?

Scammers manipulate victims, as do rapists, it's not their fault. their naivette, maybe, but not a fault. And if there is a choice involved, it is not an immoral one- that goes to the scammers and rapists. The latter are always the ones to be blamed 100% because you'd expect people to be decent.

Besides, aas you get older, if you really want to be with someone there comes a point you realise that you need to be less critical of people's baggage or choices or whatever and a little more sympathetic. To err is to be human, unless of course someone lives under a blanket for the majority of their life.

Which makes me wonder though, how old is Stonetoss?
