Weeb Wars / AnimeGate / #KickVic / #IStandWithVic / #vickicksback - General Discussion Thread

So do we have anyone else with an interesting con story that they'd like to share? Doesn't have to be the Pulitzer prize winning material @EriMin is giving us, heck you don't even have to had worked at the con an attendee story is just as good. I've already shared a few if mine throughout the thread, and so far this has been a riot.
Mid 1990s', Dallas, SciFi\Fantasy convention...
Working guest relations.
"To Wong Fu, thanks for everything..." had just come out, and there was a sudden spike in interest from fans for Julie Newmar... with the tie in because of Batman, some exceptional person decided Julie needed to be at a scifi con.
She didn't "get" con culture, didn't like scifi, and truely just didn't fit.
Very quickly after picking her up and getting her onsite, it was realized she needed, not so much a handler, as much as an alcoholic's seeing eye dog.
Imagine, if you can, statuesque Julie Newmar, in her 60s' being politely steered around corners, down stairs, through hallways, by a frightened volunteer, vapor clouds of ethanol trailing her...
The saddest part, was when a staffer that had copied the prop picture of her from the movie, got her to autograph it, but she was too drunk to remember the quote from the movie.
"Who the hell is Wong Fu, and why would I be thanking him?"

Hmmm...I wonder why her tweets disappear moments after she tweets them. Maybe it's because she knows she's actively defaming and slandering someone on a social media platform and is acting like a mouth piece for a certain group of disengenous cumstains.

I love it. That was a fantastic case for the law Twits to cite. Ty only has to do exactly what he said he has to do.

I'm glad we finally have the text that lays this out.

Um... I got to thinking. Ron Toye is having everything transcribed right? Presumably for a lawsuit? While he is defending himself from a lawsuit using the defense "the plantiff is well known because he does voice acting and goes to conventions"? The same argument that could be made against Monica Rial.

Unless he is going to sue for his own reputation. Or he's not doing it at all and trying to put on a show.

She ended up appreciating the role and did some cons tho if I recall?

The only winning move is not to play --W.O.P.R
This is the real answer, they [edit: twitterlaw] don't even care (too much) about winning the argument. Just prolonging it is good enough. The only benefit of this at all to them is engagement.

If they wanted to win, they would just report you to Twitters transgender "security" cabal and their voice would be the only one left.

It's not even good law school bullshit. They don't even know what defamation is and the Twitter lawyers who do know deliberately let people get it wrong because they're essentially liars.

They will let nonsense like "it isn't defamatory to call someone a pedophile" slide, or even say it themselves, and pretend not to understand the difference between false defamatory statements and defamatory statements that are not actionable because they are true.
I think it's even simpler than that. You've made the classic mistake of assuming they're building their premises before their conclusions.

If the shoe was on the other foot, and it was one of their sacred cows making the exact same claim, they'd swear up and down that it's defamation, and any first year law student could tell you, and the judge is going to throw the book at them, and award a bazillion dollars!

I watched the video and what I saw was a girl who was not only starstruck, but being noticed by hundreds of people at once. She is probably somewhat introverted so it must have been a minor shock to her. Can guarantee her year was probably made though from that.

That was Vic's power of Mind Raping her into submission. He has that power, it's well know and documented in all the con circles, literally case closed he's a goddamn sith lord.

I've only seen the pictures and have 0 context and that face doesn't scream disgust, but I can see why one would think that. She's clearly nervous but where one could mistake are the raised cheek muscles, making it close to disgust. What they miss however, is the very telling inaction of the eyebrows. If she was disgusted, those eyebrows wouldn't be in the neutral or even slightly raised position. The emotion here is not disgust, it is pride. She's clearly happy to be there. I don't believe for a moment their bullshit about her saying she was disgusted.

Something to note is: how the hell would Lynn or anyone else know how she felt? And if they did, why do they mention this only now?
