To piggyback on what @Honest Coyote said, Desmond's sexually precocious behaviours at his age are a glaring marker for abuse. Were he to be acting this way at a school or a doctor's office, mandatory reporting would absolutely kick in (if only to investigate, and not necessarily to take the child in care). Like others have said, I don't really see Desmond turning this around. I think he's way too deep into this and it's pretty much all he knows.
We are really in uncharted territory here, there's a bunch of these drag kids in the spotlight and we have no idea what happens when they hit 18.
I don't think anyone is gonna kill Desmond or his parents, though. Even the furthest people on the right just see this as a symptom of a much larger problem, just some sick degenerates who are chasing attention and clout.
