I thought about this, it's why radio personalities generally shy away from doing public appearances, it tends to ruin the mystique of the program (barring the major players like Howard Stern, etc.). I'll just stick to the clip channels if something interesting pops up, no need to tune back in completely. Besides, everyone here does a pretty good job of keeping tabs on these exceptional individuals.
As much as there is value in the mystique, I think what really destroys it, is the shameful reaction. The denying, hiding, ignoring part of it. The part where they suddenly look like a bitch.
Like there are some things like Andy Warski screaming like a historinic bitch because he might get in a little scrap, even after his group tried to taser them over absolutely nothing, you can't really own that without mercilessly laughing at yourself.
You know what? Ralph should have owned stuff like eating that burger. It tasted good. It was free. This is america. My gunt needs to grow and you better watch out because it's hungry for you. Like my little krang, it's hungry for you, so you better get to the reactor before it's going after you, Quaid.
It's the shame that killed the atmosphere more than the lack of mystique (though that didn't help either).
