Trying to find a good masterpost of the fiasco but essentially around 2011-2012 a bunch of crazy teenaged girls from tumblr (it was known they were from tumblr because they’d blog all about the poor bastard) harassed the Peter Pan face character to the point that he couldn’t do his job.
I remember that, because I used to watch the artist who was either a fangirl of his, or knew him in real life, Briana Garcia, she went by bri-chan if I remember correctly and she fangirled him a lot (she was kind of a Disney sperg).

The magic bands are like, literally years old news. iirc there was a House rep that tried to inquire about them being a big datamining thing and Disney's response was basically "yes, it is. Are you going to do something about it, pussy?"

As for "another Walt greatgreatgreatrelative cries about not getting money I mean uhhh cares about stuff" meh whatever that's how we got Iger iirc.

I hate to reply to a month old post and/or powerlevel but I knew a guy who was part of the team that did the magic bands. SEO is his main thing lol, he didn't even try to pretend that data mining wasnt the goal.

Reposting this here from the SW thread for anyone interested in regards to the clusterfuck that is Galaxy's Edge.

I've discussed the Hotel in detail before along with all of its likely false promises and features in the link below for those who want to know more about the Hotel.

Disney has officially built a hotel for Saudi Princes.

Who the fuck else would be able to afford this?!

Its insane pricing really. It would be $3,000 for three nights just for one person and $7,200 for just five people. And if you plan to stay there a week with family, you end up reaching 10 grand a week. And since its connected to the park, that's an additional grand due to the high entry prices, and all this without taking taxes into account.

... And for a signficantly lower price, nerds could just buy tickets to Universal, stay at a much more affordable resort, and visit both Harry Potter Lands (which actually pay respect to and FEEL like Harry Potter). The Harry Potter Lands have much better features and rides than Galaxy's Edge, too.

I just don't get the thought process with Disney's approach to Star Wars. In any way. They find new ways to boggle my mind.

It's as if Disney bought in to shills' idea that if it makes those toxic Star Wars fanboys REEEEEEEE it's a good idea.

Why else would they make the hotel not only insanely expensive, but based on fucking Canto Bight of all places?

Right?

I know some unfortunate souls who liked The Last Jedi ... And even they didn't like the Canto Bight stuff.

The PR bots and child slaves that Disney makes don't pay for themselves, you know.

That's why you book one night at the expensive hotel to see what it's like and spend the rest of the week at some cheaper place. Only Saudi princes would stay there with multiple people for several days.

I feel like they'll have to lower the price eventually, though. Most guests wouldn't bother with this hotel at all because of the price and the way Disney has been shitting all over Star Wars since they bought it.

Okay I won't be surprised if the twin Siamese cats are not included (even if they were not as offensively portrayed in the original, I'm sure there would be some outrage). But if the setting is the same as the animated film, which according Wikipedia is a Midwestern town in 1909, then it looks like Disney is going for woke points with making Lady's owners an interracial couple. This is just like the live action Beauty and the Beast having black aristocratic characters.

I noticed that too. If it were a modern retelling I wouldn't be too bothered by that, but assuming the story takes place during the same time period as the original then it's extremely unrealistic. Was interracial marriage even legal in that area in that time period? It wasn't fully legalized until 1967, but even if it was legal in that area in that time, I still don't buy it being accepted by other people.
