So, just to give a teensy bit of background with the modelling industry and no to say whatsoever that these assholes have any valid points, but back in the 50’s and 60’s (moreso early 60’s) models had curves and were lovely Marilyn, Rita type pin up ladies. The vast majority of buyers for stores were men. They’d go to fashion shows and pay more attention to the models than the clothes they were modelling.Designers eventually switched to essential coat hangers for that reason. Twiggy I think was the first real waif example.
I think these fatties like to take that and run with the narrative that Marilyn was a size 16 at some point, but while she had times she was plumper than others she was never obese. I see where they’re getting their talking point, but they’re dead wrong.
Designers eventually switched to essential coat hangers because they're gay pedophiles and they like looking at women who look like emaciated 12 year old boys on drugs. They would have done that from the start, but back in Marilyn Monroe's days they would get nailed to a burning cross if they went all in like that. Now, decades of gay acceptance brainwashing later, almost noone gives a shit anymore.
