Horrorcow Zoe Quinn / Chelsea Van Valkenburg / Locke Valentine / @UnburntWitch / @Primeape / CrashOverride / Hat Box / Old Uncle Anime - Con Artist, Abuser, Sexual Harasser, Drove Alec Holowka to Suicide.

Every name involved is either a broke "literally who" from Gamergate, or some click bait journalist. Even the accused are nobodies known for nothing in particular. The one exception is the guy who worked on Night in the Woods.
Jeremy Soule, the man accused in Nathalie's post which is referenced by Zoe, is hardly a nobody, having been the longtime composer for the Elder Scrolls series among many others, and has been working in the industry since he was about nineteen. Accusing him would be akin to accusing John Williams in terms of his notability in his field.

I predict this time it's either going to fail or be the very last time it works.
So it's either going to work, or not work.

Okay.

But if it does work I guarantee you it'll be the last time it does, this playbook is no longer going to work in the 2020s, massive change is coming, I can guarantee you that.
I mean, I fail to see what's different among the people who regularly buy into this shit. It's not as though there's been some noticeable upswell in people with an actual platform gainsaying these leeches, and if there was the public would never hear about it because the Socially Acceptable Thing is still to listen and believe. Success in game development and """critical analysis""" is still 95% about networking and only 5% about your actual content, and if these scams didn't work then people like Quinn would dry up and blow away to attach themselves to some other cause/industry/identity. We aren't seeing people disowning her writ large over her more blantant schemes, so I don't understand why anyone would expect callouts on an issue as fraught as rape.

EDIT: I should clarify that game development is 95% fluff only if you're not a programmer. Woo woo creative types linger on social media while the technical side gets things done

All joking aside, I think all of this is far too neat to just be coincidence. Every name involved is either a broke "literally who" from Gamergate, or some click bait journalist. Even the accused are nobodies known for nothing in particular. The one exception is the guy who worked on Night in the Woods.

Even the month is the same as Gamergate. If there wasn't the whole Voidpoint shitstorm happening I think they'd have released this post on the anniversary of Gamergate.

I'm going to take a step back and look at this from the long term. Zoe's gigs have been drying up. The comic was good for her, but now that's over, and there was even speculation in this thread about what her next grift could be. She can't do another kickstarter because unlike RebalJam and her other crowdfunders, the Chuck Tingle scam never went away.

We know that entire clique is broke. The few that have money are completely irrelevant. They're done. We know the attempts by the press to grab power and influence have failed. Sites are shutting down left and right, Jim Sterling was last seen begging for contacts and trying to troll the Dark Souls community, Anita Sarkeesian has a podcast no one cares about.

I think, from what I laid out in this wall of text, that this is a set up. They want to get their #metoo moment (and victim bux), while they still have some sliver of a chance of making it work, and before the debt collectors come knocking.

But here's where they fucked up. Up until now, anti-gamergate avoided trouble because they kept everything vague. Everything was either in the realm of opinion (This game/person is sexist) or they targeted vague entities like hashtags (I got bomb threats from gamergate). Now these idiots are naming specific people.

I doubt it'll happen, but if these guys have any sense, they should be archiving every tweet and article about them and talking to a lawyer.

I agree. I had been wondering how they were going to handle the fifth anniversary of gooblegobble and this is it. A gaggle of broke, has been cunts reliving the glory days of being fawned over by the likes of Stephen Colbert, the UN, obscure US Representatives, and shaking down tech companies who don’t know any better.

It’s not going to end well for them but like the last go around, they’re going to drag a number of people down with them.

Being accused of raping Zoe Quinn is like being accused of stealing a free sample. I'm fairly certain that chunky little skank has been down on everything but the Bismark and Titanic, and at this point if I said "I can show people your video game/comic book/napkin doodles" she'd have her ankles behind her ears hurling her flappy hatchet-wound at my flaccid cock. The only thing more guys have gone through than her is fucking puberty.

The thing is...in comics, she can be there permanently. Like herpes. Marvel is hiring political operatives associated with the Democratic Party. Bringing on Chelsea Van Valkenburg is a no-brainer. For emphasis: in comics she has no obligation to perform and it's not unheard of for people to be accused of ghostwriting stories on behalf of other people. Comics is over for Chelsea? Haha, no, she's just getting started...

God, I hope that’s what their plan is because that will backfire horribly, which in turn provides more laughs for the rest of us.

When woke sex pests get busted they tend to go down hard. Remember Eric M. Esquivel, Projarid or Jewario? As soon as these guys lost their 'ally' credentials people started coming out of the woodwork with screenshots and personal stories. It proved that everyone knew they were creeps, they just didn't care until they had to.

So far the only people I've seen coming out with stories are the most untrustworthy vague troublemakers imaginable. Targeting people with the ability and will to fight back is going to be a really bad move on their part. This has recently backfired in a big way with #KickVic and sooner or later they will find somebody who refuses to roll over and die on command.

People were wondering if they would do something for the anniversary. Her Patreon has dropped from $4200 a month to $1300 a month over the last couple of years, I will probably take a look in a couple of weeks to see if it changes.

Her Zoe Post is also ridiculous in how she tries to frame herself as both stunningly brave and a broken victim who can't speak up.
"Do you know who Alec Korvloko is? No? He made Aquatica and Night in the Woods, he's a pretty big deal, have you heard of those games? Great! Yeah he used to wear me as ventriloquist dummy and stomp around in his apartment. I am too scared to tell anyone about this.

Signed, Zoe "Me too!" Quinn.

PS. Alec Korkavado is a horrible rapist, tell everyone I said it.

PPS. if you are a games journalist, hit me up!"
