Years ago a girl in my neighborhood dated a guy who EVERYBODY knew had a history for this crap. We warned her, but she went with him anyway because "he's so sweet to me". She believed his excuses. Thankfully she wasn't a complete idiot, and the day that he raised a hand to her, she dumped his sorry ass and her older brother paid the guy a visit and gave him the ass-kicking he richly deserved.

Human nature being what it is, we want to believe people we like. Monica chooses to believe this walking piece of filth. It is at her own peril, but so be it.

This was the PERFECT opportunity for her to escape the lawsuit, and she's not even going to do THAT. Hell, if Ron's actually beating her, throwing Ron under the bus could save her life! If nothing else, it would at least increase her popularity, because as we all know, people LOVE the "battered woman" narrative and slobber over any opportunity to "help teh victims!"

So why isn't she?

Could be she's just as guilty, could be that she's being forced to go along with this.
I personally think it's a little mix of the two. I saw the way she reacted when she brought up the dvd of some anime where she was the main character but Vic got top billing. That was pure jealousy in her eyes. We have to remember that she's not suddenly innocent just because she might also be a victim.

The observation rule and not making contact is a weird and nebulous thing though. It really is something you have to lurk and feel out. For someone who doesn't 'get it', JosephTX grabbing those docs would seem like the same thing as messaging those involved directly if you haven't seen this kind of thing on the internet before.
The best way I can describe it is like information gathering with a 2nd or 3rd degree of separation. Or you can be one of those idiots who yells at his TV but don't be the sped who emails the networks or actors about something in the show that pissed you off.

Someone stated earlier that it might be her keeping this as a get out of jail free card. If they lose TCPA, she can try getting out of this with throwing ron under. If they win TCPA, she might believe she will get better career prospects and can ditch him later. Again just speculation
