I think defendants get a chance to reply to any filings don't they?
Maybe not. They're the moving party. They already had their shot and filed hundreds of pages of absolute garbage, then hundreds more, with the stated intention of continuing to file garbage until the last day. This is the plaintiff's response to their own motion.
They can file something if they get it in before the actual hearing but the amount of attention the judge will pay it is limited and they're not necessarily entitled to file endless sur-replies to every single thing after already having had ample time, including repeatedly extended deadlines, to get their shit together. In fact, they almost certainly will file some nonsensical bullshit, maybe even the very day of the hearing which, if they do, should be stricken and thrown in the trash.
