Funimation Audio Leaks - Sacred Ointment memes for degenerate teens

This has been around on the internet since forever, and it's still hilarious:

However, these are the rules that Funimation have forced onto Vic. If they want to apply it to others, then they shouldn't be shocked when others apply those same rules to them.

That’s actually a great example to illustrate the differences between what that is, and what those leaked audio recordings are. That Thundercats video is clearly a “blooper reel” it’s clips of the actors flubbing the line, saying fuck and having a bit of fun when they fuck up behind the scenes. Everybody knows these happen. They often get released carefully at cons for adult audiences to have a laugh over. They are simply amusing production screw ups. But listening to them the context is clear. These are simply organic outages of the normal production process. Everybody gets the gag. Nobody gets offended when LionO says fuck when he blows his line.

The other things seem to be scripted gay porn. Okay some of them such as Schemmel’s faggot storm are probably just the actor warming up, and fucking around. Immature and poor judgement on everybodies part to record it and keep the tapes. But not really something that awful. And then we get Mr. Popo’s special lotion... ummm? W T F?

If Dragonball goes anywhere it would be Crunchyroll (Warner Brothers) or Netflix. Not some small player.

I'd wager something as big as the Dragonball license would probably go to Viz Media or maybe Netflix.

Crunchyroll might take it, but given Warner's proximity to RoosterTeeth, I'm not so sure just yet.

Aniplex is connected to Sony, but are technically separate from Funimation, so who knows how they will be affected by the lawsuit when it's all said and done?

Of course, I would not be surprised if Toei gets involved and actually hands over the Dragonball license to a smaller yet more manageable company like Fantasy Light just to humiliate Funimation even more. A smaller company would also be less likely to fuck up like Funimation did, as they would have a lot more to lose.

It's still highly unlikely that Toei would license something as big as DBZ to a small-time company, but the Weeb Was has more shocking plot developments and over-the-top drama than an actual anime by this point.

I could be wrong but I think Viz currently has some sort of deal with Netflix. Isn’t Viz the ones doing Netflix’s dubs?

This is why if you are a business, you almost ALWAYS settle. Had Funimation agreed to take down their Tweet, apologize, and throw $50K at Vic for "mishanding" the situation, this probably would have gone away. What is it going to cost them now?

The fun has just BEGUN for Funimation however. Rekita said THREE very interesting things about these recordings.

1. He got these from a source at Funimation, so there's a mole. And if you are Funimation, you are in a dangerous place. Seek out and fire the mole? But what else does he know? You have turned someone who was motivated to help Vic into someone who is EXTRA motivated to help Vic. What else has he been archiving? Or do they leave the mole alone? What other dirt does he dig up? Does he have access to burn down their IT infrastructure? Who knows? And how paranoid are folks going to get knowing there's a traitor in their midst...

2. He's had these clips for a couple of days and he

3. Shared them with Vic's legal team before making them public.

Two and three tie together because within moments of receiving this, any lawyer worth a damn is going to rush to a judge for a litigation hold / preservation order which requires Funimation to preserve all records (paper and electronic) for discovery. And don't forget that Toei is going to want a look-see themselves.

Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind.

But they *hate* Vic, so they can't just do that, because their egos won't let them.

And we still haven't gotten to Sabat's dirt. Nick asked those questions he already knows the answer to, and Ty probably does too.

... But didn't Nick release these at like 11 when Ty was busy doing other stuff?

Unless Ty asked to preserve all of their records beforehand...

I wonder if Rizzo is the mole. If he isn't, then could it be possible that the ADR engineers might by pro-Vic?

I mean, Funimation in their handbook did mention that these "derogatory comments, epithets, slurs and jokes" constitute sexual harassment, which is weird in itself, but let's just go with that. And that bullet point doesn't even say that these have to be directed at anyone, just that it's "verbal conduct".

They'll want to know how much "sexual harassment" has been recorded and documented considering that this shit has stayed in the servers of Funimation.
