But yeah, even if I'm wrong about Commander, I can just pull a KickVic and double-down on it because being wrong on the internet is a fate worse than death, and I WILL FUCKING SHOOT YOUR DOGGO.

If you take away the unfortunate real world consequences, which people seem to be waking up to, it's just the adult version of cyberbullying. They just say whatever the fuck they want and feel nothing because it's just words on a screen. You don't have to look that person in the eye or see the life ruining results of your actions.

That's what attracted me to the Vic case. At best I've dipped my big toe into the ocean of anime so I had no idea who any of these people were and had no stakes or bias. All I knew was somebody was finally going to face his accusers, force them to back up their words, and attempt to undo as much of the damage done as possible.

Maybe I'm nuts but I'm pretty sure what we see he isn't something new. It is just that Twitter is becoming more and more popular which people speak fast and quick without thinking. I mean who honestly spends random thoughts people speak out of their ass and take it seriously. Probably some generational thing I don't understand but most people really do not care about Twitter stuff which has now become a giant pointing fingers game. I mean if none of this Vic stuff happened and you showed me those tapes I'd probably go "that's a little extreme" about those videos but Funi set themselves up to be scolded. Of course people are going to use it against them because that's the environment they want. That's unfortunately why many things are happening now. Companies are okay with lying and fire someone because it might throw a little dirt on their precious boots.

I think the lesson that a lot of companies should take is that the profit loss for keeping Vic due to no evidence is significantly less than whatever it was for terminating his contracts and throwing him out of the job. 1 million plus the lawyer fees plus the amount of people who no longer will pay for their services because let's be honest Funi never had the best reputation and something like this would be easy to jump ship. I don't think the issue is so much the bullying but the companies who give in way too easily.

Just brainstorming here, but it may be effective for it to be sarcastically Kickvic - like, juxtaposing Vic’s claims of wrongdoing with precisely the evidence that Kickvic claims proves it (along with any debunking evidence obviously) and let the reader “reach their own conclusions”. Again, by making it openly anti-Kickvic, you’re going to alienate a lot of people who will naturally think it’s an attempt to justify/whitewash an actual predator and will avoid any article/page simply for that reason.

It’s human nature that we want to see people in power torn down, and by masquerading it as an article slamming Vic I think you could reach a bigger audience.

We are supposed to turn their own tactics against them. Also frame it as a first amendment right issue.

There are lots of tactics we just have to get imaginative about it.

You just make them look like fascists for not adhering to their own standards.

It'll be interesting to see how many people change their tune once the lawsuit really starts going. I'm still under the belief that the idiots who aren't regularly screaming about Vic on Twitter are mostly in self-preservation mode.

Still, it's a real shitty thing for Young to do since he's not connected to anything going on and I sincerely doubt he really knows anyone connected to this case (including Vic).

Turns out Vic is actually Veteran (Which makes sense seeing as he used to be an officer) and when the Mafia (Kick Vic) attacked his house together on one night, he used his action that night taking them all with him.

They aren't bloopers, though. Schemmel saying "faggot" could be contorted into a blooper, but nothing else that was leaked was. Reading out a gay porno fanfic or whatever definitely wasn't a blooper, and simulating incest pedo sex was definitely not, either.

I'd argue that slightly. The one with Monica and Colleen is definitely both of them testing the booth and sound. Sonny Strait as well as you can hear him apologize just before it cuts off. The Schemmel "suck me off" clip can also be considered funny commentary as he might've stuffed his line.

However with the others,

Schemmel: the f*g term is definitely homophobic. I can get the comedic value of it, but if this was done on funimation property why wasn't he reprimanded? You can't choose when you consider things a joke and when you can't. You need to be consistent with your judgment. And If it wasn't done on Funi property, why was it on Funi's servers? Watch how in just a few years time, when the fans become even more vocal about just what a big asshole schemmel is to his fans and in general (like they did with the kelamis incident) this clip will come out again and then they won't claim it's funny anymore.

Rager and the press guy clip: I mean I'd take it as a piece of comedy, but the thing that makes it weird is why he did it twice. That definitely isn't a stuff up in that case if you have to re-record your outtake like that. Further, as the announcer was involved, it makes me think it was a planned line and not a fuck up.

Cranz: I can't even with this clip as that's hentai level audio right there. Comedic yes, but what possesses you to record that? Definitely not a fuck up either

As for the Sabat clip. Definitely comedic, but when you start actually putting effort into it and adding in the faulconer score you really got to question exactly how that counts as stuffing up a line. Especially as it goes on for 4 minutes or so.

And again I'll ask. As @TheLastJoestar mentioned and many of you who bought the DvDs/BluRays etc or attended cons may know, they show off these as bloopers and funny skits. The Z Dub is what? 15 years old and these clips haven't been released anywhere yet or shown off at any cons. And they just released their 30th anniversary set, so why not include them there? If it's just jokes, why keep them under wraps? Unless they were afraid that they knew this went beyond bloopers and probably did constitute to damaging the IP or considered to be degeneracy.

Are you sure he worked on one of the themes? I'm pretty sure he hasn't worked on any music for DB. Nathan Sharp/natelovestobattle is the one who does the current OP Dub, maybe you're mixing Jon with him? Unless you're referring to outside of DB, in which case idk

We really could assign a role to everyone involved in weeb wars and they find a good fit.

Might be a little but I think deep down they know exactly the point being made. But they are far too invested in their side of this internet slapfight (and the broader culture war) that they can't bring themselves to publicly admit it. Sunk cost rears its ugly head again.
Also, if their side starts feeling the brunt of "cancel culture" (my god, what a faggy name), that would require some introspection on their part.
And there's no way these fags want to stop using one of their most powerful weapons.

I just checked and it’s a mix of both. You’re right that Nate did the second opening but Jonathan Young did do a cover for the first ending for the English broadcast.

Cognitive bias. We all picked sides and human brains are wired to dismiss things that threaten the narrative. Our brains also activate the "fight or flight" response when presented with facts contrary to our point of view.

They looked at all the "evidence" and put together a narrative to explain it. Unfortunately you can't just whip out "the pimp cane of truth" on these people because will become defensive. You have to lead people out of their delusions piece by piece.

This all worked with Vic because there was enough ground work done for people to believe it. The diva rumors and cheating rumors made him look bad so the jump to assault wasn't a large one. Also a divorce damages him a bit.

Compare that with Sabat. Sabat has a family and a business. People can dismiss the rumors about him since he would put the life he built at risk.

But we pointed out that he uses autism as an insult. Now he has done a homophobic slur. Trust and faith in him has eroded. They don't know Sabat as well as they thought he did. Anything else that comes out people will more readily believe.
