It would be hearsay if the defendants introduced it as proof that Vic is a pedophile who liked little girls.

That is not why it is offered. It is offered as evidence that Chris Sabat said that thing.

It doesn't seem to be relevant to much currently in the case. I wonder why it's in there.

I suppose it might be evidence that Chris Sabat communicated a defamatory statement about Vic to another person. That would be an element of a defamation claim.

But Chris Sabat isn't being sued.

Yeah Chuck’s affidavit is delightful. Look past the salacious C Harvey Weebstein stuff. Inside that are two very very important facts, offered as truth of the matter.

- Sabat clearly and unquestionably possesses hiring and firing power at Funimation or over Funimations projects and employment. And he exercises it willfully with no pushback from Funimation management, and in fact the direct blessing and authorization of Gen Fukunaga.

- C Harvey Weebstein directly and personally contacted cons and other voice actors to deny Vic work. And included provably false claims that Vic was going to be arrested for sexual assault and child molestation.

For those that missed it, hiring and firing power is one of the major check boxes for determining if an individual is an Agent of a company or organization. Sabat clearly passes that test based on Chuck’s Affidavit.

C O N S P I R A C Y!

That is a very very bad document for Funimation. Chuck has just given evidence clearly to prove the one Cause of Action everyone has been worried about. The Conspiracy Charge directed towards Funimation. Iago ties it all together. He is clearly a powerful and unchecked agent of Funimation, who has been directly acting with MoRonica and Marchi to deny Vic work and ruin his professional and personal reputation.

The casting couch is just the salacious icing on the cake.

Just thinking here, if Chris "have a seat over there" Sabat is in fact Iago (probably is ), did the cabal at Funimation have a plan apart from Kick Vic out, something, then profit. I wonder if HanLeah and Marzgurl are just two idiots who were screaming on twitter about Vic being a "predator" and the Funi team saw this and went, let's see how far we can take this.

I believe Vic mentioned in his deposition that there is always a group that gets upset when he is cast in something. The difference this time was that Moronica, Sabat and Schemell saw the chance to get rid of Vic quickly and easily.

Either way, I look forward to a possible Round 2 with Iago and Igor.

It's sort of a small damage control tactic. They use it as a way to remove themselves from any searches of Vic's name so they don't get wrecked to oblivion by ISWV stans and can keep the hundreds (or less) of people that actually think they're relevant or interesting in their echo chamber and feed them their shit takes and lies. Cowards tbh because they can't handle critism or that their opinions might be wrong or that their takes on things are just dog shit bad. That's why Terez has so many people blocked on her account that she hasn't even interacted with before.

Either that or they think saying his name somehow makes his case any more relevant than it already is and using their autistic train of thought, not saying his name will make it less relevant and eventually it'll die down

Sometimes, because the context makes them look dumb. Other times, because they don't understand the context.

Notice how they haven't responded at all to the prima facie case for defamation BHBH was laying out? That's the context of the Sabat stuff, and the scandalous nature is rather relevant with the logic laid out in the filing. But following legalities is too much for the outrage crowd.

Alternatively, they may be waiting for Douchette to hand down his insipid analysis so they can parrot it without thinking. But LowT got his account suspended. So all they can do is complain about the stuff they marginally comprehend until someone saves them with some lawyer-sounding talking points.
