When he was in front of adults he acted shocked and sad about what happened. He pretended he was a friend. He acted like a victim when anyone pointed out that he was one of the worst. He also claimed racism.

In Zoe's reality, she did nothing wrong and many of her contacts also live in that reality (or at least somehow afraid of openly say that the empress is naked).

Also, people like Zoe never kill themselves at least not in purpose. They only cause some minor damage to themselves to gain some sympathy or lie about it. The only way in which she can end up committing suicide is if she's cornered, and she's far from that because many people still protect her either because they believe what she says or because their own benefit.
