It's an overblown generalization, but I'm self aware enough to know some of us do the same thing to their own. I don't blame Zoe for killing Alec, but I am frustrated with how much influence she has on his own friends and family and how irresponsible she was with that influence. And for what? Some extra woke points and a couple hundred dollars?

I dont know where my stance falls on the spectrum, but all I want to see is if some genuine introspection can lead to a nuanced discussion on cancel culture. Possibly an unreasonable expectation considering the audience associated with Quinn, but I can't help myself.

It would take the police giving a fuck and putting in an extra bit of effort towards A. Finding proof that Alex was innocent B. That Zoe and Alex's business partners had a motive to destroy him and drive him to suicide, one that can prove malicious intent to set into motion him killing himself C. Sort out jursidictional issues relating to the case and C. Finding a DA with jurisdiction that has balls of steel to charge Zoe and anyone she roped into said scheme for murder.

Not to mention Alex's family; they would probably have to push hard to make the police/DA go after Zoe and even then, that would probably require them trying to find someone in the media (not just say, Fox News or Brietbart) who would give them a platform to raise holy hell and create public pressure to get Zoe and company arrested.

That last bit is most important because most police/DAs don't care about going after people who maliciously drive others to suicide. Especially if there is a rape accusation being thrown around and the person accused of rape is the one who killed himself. Without an advocate for Alex, to never let up and create the necessary shit show needed to make the police arrest Zoe, the police will probably take Zoe's side and assume that Alex's suicide=him admitting to the crime. And with the media protecting Zoe's ass and the level from which she's being protected from above, it would take a Jack McCoy or "insert Law and Order DA of your choice" to force of will fight against Zoe and her allies in the press who will go scorched earth on anyone who opposes her.

I rated you autistic because you suggested the police would bother themselves, in Canada, with proving someone innocent. The court system can not do that by it's own admission. We declare people not guilty. We do not declare people innocent. Ever. Even when they've been declared guilty and they clearly aren't. Those people get a pardon. There is no court declaration of innocence and no search for it by officers of the court - including the police.

Finally this is a suicide. There are no guilty parties unless one was to identify the specific message that drove this individual to suicide. No? Not doing that? Then the crime is unsolvable by Canadian standards near as I can tell. Zoe isn't guilty of any offense of criminal law in Canada. The family might file a civil suit. But from what I've seen of the sister that seems unlikely.

I think this was covered earlier in the thread but I can't agree more. I bet she's gonna come back in a few days and downplay Alec's suicide in some Twitter thread.
